Journalist Megyn Kelly claimed Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) is “afraid” of coming on her show for an interview.
During a segment on SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show” Monday, Kelly contrasted DeSantis’ and Donald Trump’s policy approaches and noted that the Florida governor “can’t charm a room” like the former president could.
“I’ll say for the record, we asked DeSantis to come on the show. He has not said yes, and I find that very interesting,” Kelly remarked before referencing DeSantis’ recent interview with British anchor Piers Morgan.
“He’s afraid. I’m just gonna put this out there – he is afraid because he knows the kind of interview that I would give him. He’s not gonna get a pass.”@MegynKelly reveals why Ron DeSantis won’t come on The #MegynKellyShow. Watch the FULL clip: https://t.co/KLwgCzBHli pic.twitter.com/m4myZuEdAP

“I love Piers Morgan. He’s a pal of mine. But why would you go sit with the British guy and not come on this show? And I do think there’s a reason for it, and I will venture to say he’s afraid. I’m just gonna put it out there, he’s afraid ’cause he knows the kind of interview that I would give him. He’s not gonna get a pass,” Kelly said.
“He’s not gonna get a pass, same as Trump never got a pass from me,” she continued. “Speaking of Marianne Williamson, go back and look at the interview I did with her. She also didn’t get a pass, which led to the infamous line of: This is an interview, not a friendship. Which is what I had to remind her of when she got upset. I was actually asking her tough questions. That’s the way I am with presidential candidates, and that’s because I represent the viewers, not the candidates, and that’s the way the journalists should be.”
The former Fox News anchor also lashed out the media for “falling in love with the politicians.”
“We’re there for the viewers. We’re not there to rub elbows with these guys who may or may not be president and inure ourselves in their good graces,” Kelly stated.
“Reporters need to remember that — the relationship is supposed to be adversarial, for the love of God. These journalists should show it. I don’t give a sh*t if you’ve fallen in love with DeSantis or Trump for that matter. They’re not your friend,” she added.
Kelly’s remarks comes as DeSantis’ numbers have been falling in recent weeks as reports emerged that RINO Republicans like Karl Rove and the Bushes were huddling around DeSantis as their preferred 2024 presidential candidate.
DeSantis’ glib response last week to reports that a Manhattan DA could arrest Trump over a case involving porn star Stormy Daniels was also seen as a political fumble.
