Sunny Hostin‘s sex life was front and center on this morning’s episode of The View. After getting grilled by Joy Behar, the co-host promised that she does not have to fake her orgasms.
The NSFW conversation came up during a Hot Topics segment about the new AppleTV+ docuseries The Super Models. In the show, Cindy Crawford says she molded herself around the person she was with when she was young, referring to her previous marriage to Richard Gere.
“I will say I believe Cindy Crawford because she was also married to Richard Gere,” Hostin said. “If Richard Gere wanted me to become some sort of Buddhist yogi, I think I probably would do it.”
When she was met with objections by Behar, she admitted to fabricating certain aspects of her life when she first met her husband, whom she married in 1998.
“I’ve pretended to do a lot of things,” Hostin confessed. “I told Manny — I mean, I am a faithful person, I’m Catholic — I told him I went to church every single Sunday.”
Meanwhile, Behar had a far different kind of “pretending” in mind.
“Don’t you think she fakes orgasms? Tell me,” the comedian asked the audience, to which Hostin clarified, “I don’t have to, Joy. I’m one of the lucky ones.”
In an attempt to change subjects, Alyssa Farah Griffin jumped in with a story about how she tried — and failed — at skiing in order to impress her mother-in-law, who would have “rejected” her otherwise.
“I’ve done this in every relationship — not faking orgasms, to be clear,” Griffin joked, before Whoopi Goldberg chimed in, “I’m just telling you. You cannot unhear anything you hear today. It’s gonna be with you the rest of the day.”
On the contrary, Ana Navarro — who once said she has to “take a shot” to have sex with her husband — has never changed herself for a man.
“I frankly have not changed from when I was young to now that I’m 51 years old,” she said. “If you want to be with me, you mold to me. I think faking it gets tired and at some point, [your] authentic self comes out.”
She’s right: “faking it” can only last so long — it’s a good thing Hostin wouldn’t know.
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
