Deion Sanders can’t help himself.
The legendary football player turned Colorado Buffaloes head coach doesn’t want to just win — as they did against the reigning national champion runner-up TCU last week — he wants to win in style at his new gig.
The team had vaulted from unranked to No. 22 in the country following its 45-42 win over the Horned Frogs last week and will be hosting Nebraska at noon on Saturday.
Sanders plans to have the Buffaloes wearing custom suits this weekend for the occasion.
And the suits are approved by, you guessed it, Sanders himself.
The suit details were hand-chosen by Sanders, who held an “on-campus fitting” for his players on the team earlier this summer, according to Colorado beat writer Brian Howell.
The suits are a product of a fashion line owned by former New York Giants great Michael Strahan, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014, three years after Sanders.
“We’ve got a lot of eyes on us, so you know I had to make sure the team was looking right, down to all the details from the color of the stitches to the I BELIEVE on the inside,” Sanders told GQ about the suits.
“Working with Strahan and his team on these custom suits has been a tremendous blessing for our program. They believed in the movement since Day 1 and [it] was only right to partner with them yet again.”
Sanders and the Buffaloes have the football program ranked for the first time since 2020 — the last year the squad started 2-0.
A win over Nebraska on Saturday would award the Buffaloes more victories than they obtained all of last season when they finished 1-11.
