TUCSON, Ariz. (TCD) — A jury has found a 47-year-old man guilty of killing his estranged wife and her two teen children while he was out on bond for a domestic violence charge.
According to KOLD-TV, John Edwards James was convicted of murder Monday, May 13, for the shooting deaths of 44-year-old Willona White, 14-year-old Jaiden White, and 18-year-old Talmadge Holmes Jr.
On July 1, 2021, at 7:45 a.m., the Tucson Fire Department was called to a home on the 7600 block of East Toronto Street for a medical emergency. When medics arrived, they found Jaiden White and Holmes deceased from “gunshot trauma.” Paramedics called Tucson Police for assistance, and officers soon located Willona White inside also suffering from gunshot wounds.
KOLD reports Tucson Police Detective Pat Robinson said they were all shot “multiple times.”
“The victims were executed,” he said.
One or more of the victims were reportedly asleep at the time of the slayings.
Police arrested James in June 2022 while he was in custody on drug-related charges.
