HOPKINTON, N.H. (TCD) — State troopers arrested a 30-year-old man on several charges after a 27-year-old woman was found dead in the breakdown lane of a highway this week.
Shortly after midnight on Monday, June 5, New Hampshire State Police received a call about a body in the far lane of northbound I-89 near mile marker 7.2. Troopers went to the scene and located a deceased female, who they were unable to identify at the time. New Hampshire State Police described her as 5-foot-1, 111 pounds, 18 to 30 years old, with fair skin and strawberry blonde hair. She also had a tattoo of a feather with birds flying out of it.
New Hampshire State Police eventually identified the victim as 27-year-old Gina Maiorano.
Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie Duval determined Maiorano died from blunt head injuries, but her manner of death remained inconclusive.
On June 6, New Hampshire State Police arrested Thomas Hanley for conduct after an accident, breach of bail, and stalking.
In a Facebook post, Maiorano’s aunt identified Hanley as the father of Maiorano’s children.
