GOODYEAR, Ariz. (TCD) — A missing man was found shot inside a home along with two deceased individuals as investigators continue to search for the shot man’s father.
Fifty-one-year-old Chad Holvig was last seen July 4 when he left his house in Tonopoah to visit his son, Dalton Holvig, in Goodyear and left several personal items at home. Chad Holvig’s family had no contact with him after July 6, which the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said was “unusual behavior” for him. A family member reported him missing July 11.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Dalton Holvig also disappeared around July 10. A relative saw him at his home in Goodyear but then had no contact with him after that date. He reportedly has a leg injury.
AZFamily.com reports deputies conducted a search at a home this week and discovered Dalton Holvig inside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was still alive. Additionally, investigators found two deceased individuals and arrested two people inside the residence on unrelated charges.
Maricopa County Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez said, “Multiple weapons and other potential evidence was recovered from the property and the investigation is in an aggressive and fluid state.”
Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone told KTAR-FM Dalton Holvig sustained two to three gunshot wounds and was “being kept there against his will, according to his statements.”
Penzone said the case was “very complex and very concerning,” especially due to the “level of violence that took place on that property.”
He did not elaborate on the scene but said the medical examiner will conduct autopsies to determine the identities of the two deceased people who were found inside the home.
