Instagram users mercilessly mocked rainbow-haired rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine after a group of thugs beat him down in the bathroom of a South Florida gym Tuesday night.
“How you go to the Gym to workout but get worked out,” one user quipped on 6ix9ine’s Feb. 12 post, his latest.
“Bro got jumped in booty shorts,” another said, referencing the short, tight shorts 6ix9ine wore as he walked around the gym, still in shock after the attack.
Some thought the attack stemmed from 6ix9ine ratting out Bloods gang members in a court case several years ago.
“Wasn’t this the untouchable rat!!” user hubbasandblunts.usa wrote. “They made rat soup outta yo a–.”
“Rat finally got whooped,” added user 99mich.privat.
The savage beating – which happened in the sauna of an LA Fitness, according to video footage posted online by OnlyInDade – could have been worse if the quick-thinking gym staff hadn’t locked him away in a room for his own safety, according to TMZ.
6ix9ine apparently frequents the gym, going right to the StairMaster, which he uses for about 20 minutes while minding his own business, TMZ said.
6ix9ine’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, told NBC Miami that he tried to fight back against the ruffians, who pounced on him, beat him to the ground and rained blows down upon the rapper as he lay in the fetal position.
New surveillance footage showed the group of unidentified men as they walked into the Palm Beach gym before the attack. Obtained by TMZ, the footage showed one man talking on his phone before opening the door for another.
The pair chats with the front desk attendant, then struts into the bathroom where they allegedly attacked the oft-troubled rapper.
One Instagram user poked fun at why 6ix9ine was out and about alone that night.
“All this flexin but can’t afford security guard,” the user said.
The perpetrators fled after employees heard about the fight. Authorities brought the rapper to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries such as cuts and bruises on his face.
Police are still investigating the case.
The beating is just another in a long line of troubles for the Bushwick-born rapper,
He was tossed from a Miami baseball stadium last week after causing a drunken ruckus.
In 2019, he was sentenced to two years in prison for his role in the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang. He would’ve faced more time, but he rolled on his Bloods compatriots and ratted them out.
An assistant US attorney said at the time that 6ix9ine “will forever have to look over his shoulder.”
It’s not clear if the recent assault was connected to the court case.
