HOUSTON (TCD) — Officials believe human remains found in a Pasadena bayou this week are those of a 2-year-old girl who was reported missing at the same time her father allegedly choked her mother to death.
On Oct. 18, Houston Police went to a residence on Bay Area Boulevard and learned 26-year-old Jyron Lee allegedly got into an argument with his wife in front of their children. Lee reportedly told police he “placed his wife in a chokehold to prevent her from injuring their children.”
Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. KPRC-TV reports the victim was identified as 22-year-old Nancy Reed.
Police subsequently arrested Lee on suspicion of murder.
While investigating Reed’s death, Houston Police learned her 2-year-old daughter, Nadia, was “unaccounted for,” and Lee became a main suspect in connection with his daughter’s disappearance. According to Houston Police, Nadia “sustained injuries inflicted by Jyron Lee” and was killed either on or around Oct. 16 on South Richey Street in Pasadena, Texas.
Lee was charged with capital murder in December in connection with Nadia’s disappearance on top of the murder charge relating to Reed’s death.
On March 20, officials located human remains in a bayou and believe they are those of Nadia, but official autopsy results are still pending.
