A 2-year-old boy was beaten to death by his mother’s boyfriend inside the man’s Brooklyn home over the weekend, authorities said Tuesday.
The battered body of the toddler — who was not immediately identified by police — was discovered around noon Sunday inside the home on East 68th Street near Avenue U in Bergen Beach, where the suspect, 23-year-old Latrell Lewis, lives, cops said.
Cops were responding to a 911 call when they found the mortally injured boy with bruising to his stomach inside the home, authorities said.
The tot was rushed to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The city Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the boy suffered trauma to his head and body, and the death was ruled a homicide.
Lewis was arrested Monday and charged with murder, police said.
His arraignment was pending Tuesday.
It was not immediately known whether he had a criminal history.
