NEWPORT, N.H. (TCD) — Five people, including a teen, were arrested last week after they allegedly moved a missing man’s body following his death.
Mark Hudson was reported missing March 21 to the Newport Police Department. The next day, Newport Police announced Hudson’s body was found in a wooded area after “an exhaustive multi-agency effort.”
His cause and manner of death remain pending.
On March 23, the Newport Police Department arrested Lauren Ayotte, 50, Christopher Ayotte Jr., 27, Jacob Ayotte, 19, and Candace Fontaine, 31, on charges of conspiracy to commit falsifying evidence and conspiracy to commit abuse of a corpse. Police said 32-year-old Ryan Palmer had not been located and was wanted, but WCVB-TV reports Palmer later turned himself in.
According to the press release, the five people allegedly “conspired to unlawfully remove the body of Mr. Hudson and other evidence from the scene of his death.”
Police said additional charges are likely as the case continues.
