STILLWATER, Okla. (TCD) — Two suspects are in custody in connection with the death of a man whose body was found last week.
On Friday, July 21, shortly before 10:30 a.m., the Stillwater Police Department responded to the 400 block of South Drury and found a body in a wooded area. Investigators later identified the victim as 28-year-old Dylan Lewis of Stillwater.
Officials did not disclose the victim’s cause of death.
Police initially identified 28-year-old Troy Driskel as a suspect in the case. Investigators executed a “high-risk search warrant” near 100 W. Mathews, located Driskel, and took him into custody on Friday, July 21, at around 8:20 p.m.
According to records, Driskel was booked into the Payne County Jail on charges of first-degree manslaughter, third-degree burglary, and possession of paraphernalia.
Police said they identified a second suspect, 31-year-old John Helfrick, after conducting interviews with witnesses. Officials arrested Helfrick on Saturday, July 22, shortly after 2:30 a.m., and booked him into the Payne County Jail on a charge of first-degree manslaughter.
