Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ widow Allison Holker celebrates their ‘brave’ and ‘strong’ son Maddox’s 7th birthday… three months after DJ’s tragic death

Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ widow Allison Holker celebrated their young son Maddox on Sunday, March 27 as he rang in his seventh birthday.

On Monday, the mother-of-three, 35, penned a sweet post where she gushed over the ‘forever bond’ they share and praised his bravery and strength.

She also included photos of the birthday boy waking up to a hoard of beautifully wrapped gifts waiting for him on the family’s kitchen island.

Along with Allison, Maddox’s sisters Weslie, 14, and Zaia, three, were also on hand for the at-home celebration.

It comes three months after Stephen – who was known for his DJ work on the Ellen DeGeneres show – tragically died by suicide at the age of 40 on December 13.

‘Happy 7th birthday my sweet sweet Maddox! Oh I love you so much and couldn’t be more proud or grateful to be your mommy,’ Allison began.

‘I’m so proud of you! You are brave, strong, endearing, loving, and full of joy. You have this beautiful passion for life that brings light into every room you walk (run, jump, fly) into.

‘We had an incredible talk the other night and we talked about how powerful you are and that we share a forever bond… your the sun and I’m your moon.. pulling for each other forever and ever!

‘I love you and you deserve this perfect day celebrating you!’ the dancer concluded.

Allison documented the happy day in a photo slideshow.

One snap showed Maddox posing with his family on the bar stools situated right in front of his wall of gifts.

Allison also included a clip of the moment Maddox woke up to find his presents wrapped and ready for him to open.

Earlier this month, Allison delivered a powerful message of support to her three children on March 10 – just three days prior to the anniversary of Stephen’s passing.

‘My loves we are stronger than you could ever imagine,’ penned the SYTYCD pro. ‘And we will stand strong together as a unit, and find the courage to hold each other up.’

She continued: ‘I will be here for you every step of the way through the highs and lows, the ups and the downs. I will protect and I will guide, I will be a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, I will have mom jokes ready for when you need a good laugh.

‘The love and light inside our hearts will still shine. I love you forever and always. Mommy.’

Stephen and Allison wed back in 2013 after meeting one another for the first time at a friend’s party in 2006.

Over the course of their nine-year marriage, they welcomed two children: Maddox in 2016 and daughter Zaia in 2019. 

Stephen legally adopted Allison’ teenage daughter Weslie – who she welcomed with a prior partner – in 2013.

The family of five frequently documented their home life on social media, including their coordinated Halloween costumes and frequent dance parties in their backyard.

On Saturday, February 12, a celebration of life was held for Stephen in Los Angeles

But tragedy struck when Stephen tragically passed away on December 13, 2022 in Encino, California. 

He was found at a hotel just half a mile from the family’s $2.7million home.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner ruled his death a suicide the following day.

At the time, a heartbroken Allison released a statement saying: ‘He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.’

On Saturday, February 12, a celebration of life was held for Stephen in Los Angeles.

Along with family, the event was attended by Ellen DeGeneres, Loni Love, Wayne Brady, Robin Antin, several So You Think You Can Dance cast/crew and the entire Ellen DeGeneres Show cast/crew.

Days later, Allison published an emotional video thanking her fans, followers and friends for their continued support in the wake of Stephen’s death.

‘I just want to say thank you for all the love and support that you guys have sent to me and my family at this time.

‘It has been very challenging and emotional, but you guys have brought so much hope and inspiration to us by sharing stories and memories and moments and different ways that Stephen impacted your life.’

She continued: ‘He lived his life from love, and he made you feel a certain way. My family and I have always said that we wanted to make sure that our purpose was looked out by bringing joy to people.

‘Joy to people’s homes, you know, from dance or love. And that’s not gonna change for us. It’s going to feel a little bit different, but we know that that’s our purpose and we’ll still do that to this day.’

Allison spoke about how important it is to ‘choose love, ‘choose grace,’ and ‘choose kindness.’

She ended the video promising that she will ‘always be there for you guys. And I appreciate you guys being there for us in this moment.

‘It goes a really far way for us, so thank you, and I hope you guys remember how special you are and how much of an impact you make around the world and continue to move from there.’
