Robert De Niro, 79, announces name of his newborn daughter while sharing a sweet first photo as he CONFIRMS Tiffany Chen is the mother

Robert De Niro confirmed he welcomed a daughter with his partner Tiffany Chen, also revealing her name – Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro.

She was born on Thursday, April 6, weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces, he told CBS Mornings’ host Gayle King via a phone call.

The outlet also shared a photo of his adorable baby girl.

Robert said ‘this baby is planned,’ adding that they both wanted the baby and are ‘over the moon.’

‘She was brought here by love,’ Gayle said Robert told her in their phone call.

The iconic actor, 79, shocked the world when he revealed he had ‘just had a baby’ in an interview earlier this week – after Tiffany, who is believed to be 45 – was seen with a baby bump in March.

His newborn seventh child has been seen for the first time, as doting mom Tiffany went for a walk with her baby in NYC on Wednesday.

The baby was dressed in a pink onesie and swaddled in a white blanket as Tiffany lifted the baby out of a stroller. 

And though the news of the actor expanding his brood may have been a surprise to fans, De Niro told Page Six at the event that he was not surprised to become a dad again and that the pregnancy with girlfriend Tiffany Chen was ‘planned.’

‘How you could not plan that kind of thing?’ he asked. De Niro also shared his feelings about becoming a father again.

‘I’m ok with it,’ the actor told Extra when asked if he was excited. ‘I’m good with it.’ When asked if becoming a parent ever gets easier the Taxi Driver quipped, ‘Never gets easier.’

De Niro’s About My Father co-stars Sebastian Maniscalco and Kim Catrall were thrilled for the actor, with Sebastian telling Extra on the red carpet that he had no idea the actor was expecting another child.

‘I was informed today that he had the baby I didn’t know leading up to this that he was going to have a baby but uh yeah God bless him.’

‘He’s a very soft-spoken individual loves to spend time with his family and I’m happy for him,’ he added.
