Reese Witherspoon and her estranged husband Jim Toth, appeared to have settled a good deal of their financial issues before even announcing their divorce.
The Morning Show star, 47, and the talent agent, 52, shared the news of their split just two days before their 12th wedding anniversary in a joint announcement on social media Friday.
The pair said ‘Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter.’
The couple share their son, Tennessee, 10. Reese is also mom to Ava, 23, and Deacon, 19, from her first marriage to actor Ryan Phillippe, 48.
Assets: Reese Witherspoon, 47, and her estranged husband Jim Toth, 52, reportedly began splitting their assets for several years before announcing their divorce Friday, according to a source. Liquidated assets reportedly include three homes and another one on the market
An insider reportedly told US Weekly back in 2021, the couple had quietly been liquidating their joint assets for a couple of years before taking the final step to dissolving their marriage.
‘They decided their marriage wasn’t going to last forever and that they should have a plan for splitting up their assets that wouldn’t destroy what they built together,’ the source told the media outlet at the time.
Reese sold a large portion her production company Hello Sunshine for $900 million in August 2021. Jim served as one of the founding board members.
Reese reportedly retained an interest in the company and continues to work for Hello Sunshine as a producer on several projects including Where the Crawdads Sing and the Prime series Daisy Jones and the Six.
‘Instead of having to split up a huge company with dozens of employees and several divisions, they have a big pile of money — and there’s plenty for everybody,’ the insider explained.
The twosome have reportedly sold several of their homes, including a farmhouse in Malibu in 2020, an English Country-style manor located in Los Angeles and a six-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion in Nashville.
A separate property in Malibu, believed to belong to them, has been listed for sale, according to Redfin, for $8 million.
The Your Place or Mine star has been forging ahead with new projects.

The program features Mickey Guyton, Jimmie Allen and Orville Peck as talent scouts who travel the globe looking for new country artists.
