Pink has thrown her support behind Britney Spears in the wake of her shock split from Sam Asghari – as the singer changed a disparaging lyric to praise the newly-single pop icon.
Asghari, 29, filed for divorce from the Toxic hitmaker, 41, on July 28 after 13 months of marriage – amid claims the pair had a ‘nuclear argument’ that saw Asghari confront his wife over rumors she was unfaithful.
It has also been alleged Spears once gave Asghari a black eye as he slept and that the actor told friends that the pop princess would attack him during their seven years together, according to TMZ.
Taking to the stage on Wednesday on her Summer Carnival tour at Comerica Park, in Detroit,, Pink, 43, subtly changed the lyrics to Don’t Let Me Get Me.
The original lyric was: ‘Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears / She’s so pretty / That just ain’t me’ with the star changing ‘damn’ to ‘sweet’ – much to the delight of fans who cheered as she sang.

Back in February Pink revealed she feels ‘protective’ of Spears and like her ‘big sister’ in a candid interview after the singer sparked concern another bizarre video.

She said: ‘People think I was picking on Britney on [my 2001 single] Don’t Let Me Get Me,’ but I’ve always felt like a big sister to her,
‘I’m very protective of her, and she’s the sweetest person in the world. I wish her well. I cover her in light all day long.’
Discussing her own start in the industry she said: ‘I signed up for this life. I came into this world very resilient, very relentless, with a sick sense of humor, thick skin and a bleeding heart. So those f***ers couldn’t mess with me. They had nothing on my mother or my teachers.
‘I lived a lot of lives before I changed my name to Pink.’
Back in May 2021 Pink said she wished she had reached out to Spears when the Toxic singer was having her meltdown in 2008.
The crooner said she had seen the New York Times documentary Framing Britney Spears and it made her sympathize with for the pop icon.

‘I felt sad that back then like I didn’t know, back in the day, in the early days, I didn’t know. Like I could’ve reached out more,’ said the star on Watch What Happens Live this week.
She added: ‘I don’t like feeling helpless and, or powerless and I can only imagine how she feels and she could’ve used some support.’
Pink then said: ‘I wish I could’ve reached out and gave her a hug.’
The film went over an array of Britney’s well-known struggles, from the way she was sexualized as a teenager to her infamous 2008 breakdown to the subsequent conservatorship she is in a legal battle over now.
‘I love Britney and here’s the thing about all of us voyeurs, none of us know what’s going on. We’re not there,’ she added.
‘And I would like to. I think we all would like to and we feel this fierce protectiveness over her for good reason. She’s a sweetheart,’ she added. ‘She’s incredibly sweet. All I know is she’s incredibly sweet and I want her to be happy,’ shared the Just Give Me A Reason singer.
Spears and Asghari wed in June 2022 but had been together since 2016.
The split reveal comes just three days after Spears posted a concerning and raunchy video with her Instagram fans after buying a new stripper pole.

The Toxic singer, who regularly wears revealing bikinis on social media, showed off her pole skills while Nine Inch Nails’ X-rated song Closer played in the background.
The track, written by Trent Reznor and featured on the 1994 album The Downward Spiral, has been described by fans as a meditation on self-hatred and obsession.
Lyrics to the controversial song include the infamous line, ‘I want to f*** you like an animal.’
‘Got this pole two days ago and last night was my first time on it,’ the star captioned the post adding three shrugging emojis and three red rose emojis.
Back in June Asghari shared a series of loved up posts marking the couple’s first wedding anniversary and branding Britney his ‘better half.’
He also shared a montage of their June 9 2022 wedding day, calling the star ‘the woman of my dreams.’
Sam and Britney’s June 2022 nuptials was a lavish affair held at the superstar’s home in Thousand Oaks.
It comes after DailyMail.com revealed that their relationship had descended into a dark and desperate state in the final weeks of their union.
Sources revealed how Asghari thought he could ‘save her’, only to realize after 13 months of marriage that there may well be no chance of ever ‘saving Britney’.
‘The reality of life with Britney was that it was not fun and it’s not a surprise at all that the marriage didn’t last,’ the insider shared.
Britney has yet to comment on the divorce news but she did break her silence by sharing a bizarre Instagram post about vowing to buy a horse ‘soon’
Asghari cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ when he filed for divorce from the singer – as sources claim that he felt he couldn’t leave Spears alone.
According to court docs, Asghari is asking the multi-millionaire for spousal support and to cover his attorneys fees.
Asghari’s lawyer Neal Hersh said that their finances need to be determined — despite the couple having an ‘iron clad’ prenup in place that protects the singer’s premarital assets.
The prenup stated that he was entitled to ‘$1 million per every two years’ of their marriage, with a cap at $10 million after 15 years, according to US Weekly.
He has also allegedly waived any claims to Britney’s music collection, and his name is not listed on the deeds of their shared home
