‘My parents were welcomed with open arms’: Todd and Julie Chrisley’s daughter says her parents’ fellow inmates have seen family’s TV show and LIKE it as dad has made many friends already

Lindsie Chrisley was worried about how her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley would adapt to life in prison after being convicted of fraud and tax evasion and sentenced to a combined 19 years behind bars.

‘You want to be strong and tell them everything’s going to be fine, even though you’re questioning if everything’s going to be fine,’ the Southern Tea podcast host, 33, said on Wednesday. 

‘One of my biggest concerns was the access to televisions… Like, do you think people have seen Chrisley Knows Best that are serving time in these camps? And simply the answer, I know now, is yes.’

But she said her folks were treated very well. 

‘My parents were welcomed with open arms,’ she claimed. ‘I feel so blessed with that because I have heard of other people reporting that not being the case,’ she added.

‘My last visit with my dad, I couldn’t stop telling him how great that he looked,’ Lindsie told prison consultant Justin Paperny in an exclusive clip of her podcast obtained by People.

Paperny advised Todd, 54,  and his wife Julie, 50, before they were incarcerated.

‘He should be in better mood because reform has happened,’ Paperny said and added that ‘more reform is coming.’ 

‘He looks very, very good,’ Lindsie said. ‘I told him, I said, “Even your hair looks better, a little bit longer and a little bit grayer.” His nails aren’t completely bitten off.

‘I know for sure that he is in such a better place,’ she added about her father’s mental state.

‘His spirits are great. He is really just embracing the process there and making the best of the process there with the people that are also there serving time with him,’ she explained. 

‘He’s made great friends. He talks about his friends there.’

The couple reported to prison on January 17. Todd is serving his 12 years at Florida’s Federal Prison Camp in  Pensacola and Julie is completing her seven-year sentence at Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Blackmail: Previously Lindsie accused her father of attempting to blackmail her

Previously, DailyMail exclusively reported on the role Lindsie may have played in her parents’ downfall. 

Despite saying that she is ‘heartbroken’ about her father and stepmother’s imprisonment, she reportedly didn’t see them from the time they were sentenced in November until they went to prison.

Because, for all her recent protestations and despite a last-minute change of heart that saw her testify on her father’s behalf, DailyMail.com can reveal that Lindsie not only reached out to Georgia’s Department of Revenue (GDOR), she filed a report against her father with Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department and gave a lengthy interview to the FBI in which she shared shocking allegations of harassment, physical violence and blackmail.

Most heinously Lindsie stated that her father threatened to leak a sex tape of her which had been bought by her half-brother, Chase, 26, if she did not lie for him in first his State, and later his federal, tax and fraud cases.

According to one well-placed source, ‘Lindsie called the GDOR in 2017 after Todd and Julie had been served with their state case because she was worried about the implications for her and her child [son Jackson, 10].

‘Then she just started saying what a horrible person her father was and how sick and tired she was of him and Julie getting away with stuff. She wanted everyone to know they were just the worst people.

An email obtained by DailyMail.com shows just how seriously Lindsie took her father’s threats.

On August 13, 2019, the very day Chrisley and Julie were federally indicted on eight counts of fraud and two counts of tax evasion, Lindsie contacted the FBI to say she was ‘truly afraid.’

She wrote, ‘There’s been some concerning things that chase (sic) has been posting and I’m worried. Can you follow up with me. These are very suggestive – maybe I’m just truly afraid, but this is insane.’

Later that month Lindsie sat down with FBI agents in their Atlanta office.

DailyMail.com has obtained the report of the wide-ranging interview in which Lindsie, referred to by her married name of Campbell, stated that she had been estranged from her father from the age of 19 or 20 through her last years of college.

Real estate tycoon Chrisley only reached out to her in 2012 when he wanted her to be part of his reality TV show, ‘Chrisley Knows Best.’
