Michael Douglas, 78, is dapper alongside son Dylan, 22, as they lead celebrities at star-studded Broadway opening of Good Night, Oscar in New York City

Michael Douglas was accompanied by his son, Dylan Michael Douglas, as they led other celebrities at the star-studded opening night of the new Broadway play, Good Night, Oscar, in NYC on Monday. 

The Basic Instinct star, 78, who shares his 22-year-old son and daughter, Carys Zeta, 20, with wife of 23 years Catherine Zeta-Jones, dressed to impress for the special night as both he and Dylan stepped onto the red carpet at the Belasco Theatre. 

The newest play to hit Broadway stars Will & Grace alum, Sean Hayes, and was written by Doug Wright and directed by Lisa Peterson.

A number of other A-listers stopped by to celebrate the show’s opening night, including Cynthia Nixon, Steve Martin, and also Molly Ringwald. 

Upon arriving at the venue, the Oscar-winning actor paused for a slew of photos and donned a dark navy suit that consisted of slacks along with a matching blazer that was left unbuttoned.

The Fatal Attraction star additionally wore a black dress shirt underneath and completed the ensemble with sleek, black dress shoes that were secured with laces. 

The Golden Globe winner added a thin, black leather belt around the waist of the slacks for a finishing touch to his outfit for the Broadway opening. 

His son, Dylan, opted for stylish comfort as he joined his award-winning father on the star-studded red carpet on Monday. 

The actor donned a pair of dark navy trousers along with a blue-striped button up that was left partially unfastened towards the collar, revealing a black, beaded necklace. 

He layered his look with a gray blazer and slipped into a pair of black sneakers that were tightly secured with laces. 

Dylan is the oldest child and son of Michael and Catherine, who also share daughter, Carys, who celebrated her 20th birthday earlier this month on April 20. Douglas also shares son, Cameron, 44, with his ex-wife, Diandra Luker.  

The father son duo happily posed for a slew of photos together on the red carpet before heading inside the theatre to watch the play alongside other celebrities. 

Dylan, who recently accompanied his father and mother to the Ant-Man 3 premiere earlier this year in February, told Entertainment Tonight at the time that he was ‘very, very proud’ of his parents.

He continued, ‘I mean, obviously, they’re great actors, both Academy Award-winning actors, but they’re great parents.’ 

‘And that’s a side that not everyone gets to see, but I get to see every day, in and out. So on that front, they do great. And they also do good work on the screen,’ Dylan further told the outlet. 

Both Michael and his son were just one of many stars who also attended the opening night of Good Night, Oscar. 

The play takes place in 1958, and follows the character and star, Oscar Levant, played by Sean Hayes, who appears on a late night talk show hosted by the character of Jack Paar. 

According to the official website, the premise follows Oscar who, ‘will prove just that when he appears live on national TV in an episode that Paar’s audience—and the rest of America—won’t soon forget.’ 

Other cast members that will make an appearance during the production also includes Shameless actress, Emily Bergl, Marchant Davis, and also The Menu actor, Peter Grosz. 

And Just Like That actress, Cynthia Nixon, was also spotted making an appearance on the red carpet and was elegant in a black and white-patterned dress that was secured with a belt that contained a gold buckle. 

The Sex And The City alum also slipped into a pair of gold heels that were secured with straps around her ankles.

The star layered her look with an off-white trench coat that she chose to leave unfastened to better show off her stylish dress. 

Her short locks were parted in the middle, and fell down towards the base of her neck, easily revealing a pair of dangly, gold earrings for a flashy touch. 

Sixteen Candles actress, Molly Ringwald, was also seen at the special event in the Big Apple, and put on a fashionable display wearing a long-sleeved, pink dress that contained a thin cutout near the high neckline. 

Sparkling, silver embellishments were embroidered onto the fabric while a belt made of the same color and material was tied into a loose knot at the front to better accentuate her waistline. 

The Breakfast Club star slipped into a pair of closed-toed, silver heeled loafers and carried a velvet pink clutch in her right hand. 

Her locks were parted in the middle, and flowed down to brush her shoulders in bouncy waves, revealing a pair of dangly earrings. 

Steve Martin and Martin Short were also in attendance, and were seen flashing big smiles with fellow actress, Andrea Martin.

Steve and Martin, who both star in the series, Only Murders In The Building alongside Selena Gomez, dressed up for the Broadway event. 

The Father Of The Bride actor donned a dark gray, three-piece suit that comprised of sleek slacks along with a blazer and matching waistcoat. The comedian additionally wore a crisp, white dress shirt and a dark, patterned tie to complete his ensemble. 

The Cheaper By The Dozen star also wore a suit that contained a lighter, pastel green color which he paired with a baby blue dress shirt. 

The My Big Fat Greek Wedding actress posed in between the two actors, and opted for an eye-catching, blue dress which she layered with a white blazer to help her stay warm in case she grew chilly later in the evening.

Everybody Loves Raymond alum, Patricia Heaton, sported long, grayish locks as she showed off her sense of style during the Broadway play opening on Monday. 

She slipped into a pair of fitted, black trousers and tucked in a blue and white-patterned blouse that contained a large, pointed collar for a fashionable flare. 

The Middle actress added a long-sleeved, black coat to layer the look, and also wore a pair of black, heeled boots that contained chunky soles. She carried a black clutch bag in her left hand as she flashed a smile while posing for a slew of snaps. 

Justin Theroux, who was previously married to Jennifer Aniston, donned a pair of faded dark gray jeans along with a plain, black sweater. 

He added a black jacket on top and slipped into a pair of black ankle boots to complete his ensemble for the evening.

John Krasinski crossed paths with stars such as Matt Damon, Luciana Barroso and also Matthew Rhys on the red carpet. 

The Office alum dressed down in a pair of black pants along with gray sweater and a long-sleeved, black coat on top. He slipped into a pair of white sneakers along with blue and black-striped socks for a colorful edge to the look. 

The Air actor, who was also joined by his wife, Luciana, donned a pair of black jeans which was paired with a black polo shirt and dark green jacket. 

His wife, who he tied the knot with in 2005, also stood next to the star, and flaunted her sense of style wearing a pair of black velvet, fitted pants along with a buttoned vest with a lace trim. 

She slipped on a long, black coat to complete the outfit and added a pair of silver-hooped earrings for a pop of color to her all-black ensemble. 

Matthew opted for stylish comfort wearing a pair of black jeans as well as a dark gray shirt and green blazer which he partially buttoned at the front. The Cocaine Bear actor slipped into a pair of brown-colored shoes for a finishing touch.

She slipped into a pair of sheer, black nylons along with sparkling, black heeled ankle boots and threw on a pair of black shades for a stylish flare.

Good Night, Oscar officially premieres to audiences starting Wednesday April 26, and the new Broadway show is slated to run through the entire summer in NYC.
