The undisputed Queen of Pop turned 65 on Wednesday, a day after announcing the rescheduled dates for The Celebration Tour, following a health battle brought on by a serious bacterial infection.
Ahead of her milestone birthday, the Ray of Light superstar shared a series of stunning snaps to her official Instagram account, from a recent birthday celebration for her son Rocco, a fellow Leo, who turned 23 on 11 August.
Meanwhile, Madonna was also celebrating her own birthday in Lisbon, Portugal – where she resided between 2017 and 2020 – on Tuesday evening as the clock struck midnight.
In a video shared on social media, the mother-of-six was seen dining with her friends and family as she gave a short speech, declaring: ‘It’s great to be alive!’

Released on June 17, the song Popular pushed Madonna into the exclusive club of having a hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart in five distinct decades; 1980s, ’90s, 2000s, ’10s and now ’20s.
Cher is the only other female artist to have achieved the same status.
All the other acts to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 in five or more decades were male solo artists like Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson or all-male groups like the Rolling Stones and Santana.
She’s not stopping there either.
Recently, the singer teased fans that she’s been in studio working on more new music, with super producer Max Martin, known for making mega-hits for Katy Perry, Britney Spears, and Kelly Clarkson.
While she is yet to confirm any details on what would be her 15th studio album, it’s clear Madonna has every intention of continuing her musical legacy.
