Kerry Washington rocks two stunning outfits including a floral mini dress and a neon green jacket as she delves into new series Unprisoned on Today

Kerry Washington gave her fashion fans two great looks to choose from when she made an appearance on the Today Show in Manhattan on Thursday.

The 46-year-old actress was there to plug her new dramedy series Unprisoned, on which she stars as the daughter of a man who has been released from prison following his latest 17-year sentence (Delroy Lindo).

She also opened up about sharing her life stories in a new memoir.

But Kerry put the focus on her impeccable fashion sense before she even sat down in front of the cameras when she arrived in a stunning neon green jacket with prominent padded shoulders.

The look featured a thick black belt around her midriff, along with green hip pockets and black-accented breast pockets.

The Django Unchained actress toned down the rest of her look with a simple black skirt that reached down just past her knees, along with pointy-toed white Louboutin stilettos.

She looked youthful with her shoulder-length hair styled in waves with a middle part, and she added some sparkle with modest hoop earrings.

Kerry, who skipped the accessories, changed her clothes once she got to the studio in favor of a somewhat more conservative outfit.

She gave her awaiting fans a glimpse of it after stepping out afterward in a lovely white tweed mini dress with a mottled design featuring blue, yellow and violet accents.

The short item emphasized the 5ft4in star’s long legs, and she kept herself warm on the chilly morning by putting on a fuzzy beige jacket.

As she was exiting the building, she stopped to show off her elegant look to fans and photographers before heading on her way.

In her new show Unprisoned, Kerry plays a therapist trying to unpack and heal from her childhood traumas caused by her father’s many stints in prison.

While chatting with Savannah Guthrie, who was back on Today after sitting out several shows starting late last month after she contracted Covid-19, Kerry noted that ‘we do a lot of shows about going into prison,’ as well as plenty about ‘being in prison,’ but she thought there was a dearth of shows dealing with how formerly incarcerated people readjust to life on the outside.

She added that the story could speak to many Americans, as 80 million Americans had criminal records and most have family members adjusting to their freedom as well.

Kerry added that she first considered writing her new memoir after her hit series Scandal came to an end, leaving her with a desire to look back on the biggest moments of her life.

She described it cryptically as being about ‘new information’ she had learned about herself and her family while researching. 

Savannah also unveiled a few of the photos that Kerry had posted to her Instagram in February to celebrate Black History Month.

She had replicated photos of famous Black women, including the Civil Rights Movement icon Rosa Parks and Jackie Brown star Pam Grier.
