Jersey Shore’s Ronnie Ortiz-Magro makes surprise return and reveals he now has full custody of daughter after eight months in rehab

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro after a long stint in treatment to deal with his mental health issues returned on Wednesday’s episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation on MTV.

The 37-year-old reality star was shown with his four-year-old daughter Ariana as he revealed that he was moving to Florida after gaining full custody.

‘I feel like I needed a change of scenery and just a change of pace in my life,’ Ronnie said in a confessional as he was shown meeting real estate agent Cynthia.

‘I’ve decided to move from Los Angeles to Miami and open up a new business. It’s a sneaker store called Sneaker Clinic,’ he added.

Ronnie was shown packing up with Ariana who picked out toys that she wanted to keep.

‘It’s a lot of hard work, but she keeps me balanced. She calms my world down. You know, I didn’t have the perfect situation with her mother, but she turned out perfect. You know, she’s so sweet and polite. It’s like, are you mine?,’ he said.

Ronnie told Cynthia that he wasn’t sure about selling his house furnished as they discussed his move to Miami.

‘The last couple of years, I was in a bad situation. I almost lost everything that I built. I almost lost my daughter, and I was in treatment for eight or nine months. Depression is something that I suffer with, and I think I finally realized, like, I need help,’ Ronnie said in a confessional.

Ronnie last appeared on the MTV show during a season five episode in August 2022.

The reality star announced in December 2017 that he and former girlfriend Jen Harley were expecting a baby girl and welcomed Ariana in April 2018.

He split with Jen and later started a relationship with Saffire Matos and they announced their engagement in June 2021. Ronnie called off the engagement with Saffire in June 2022.

Ronnie was arrested in April 2021 on suspicion of intimate partner violence and previously pleaded no contest to one count of domestic battery from an October 2019 incident in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles.

The episode also showed Ronnie with his sponsor who told him, ‘You’re ready to be Ron again.’

The surprise appearance of Ronnie was the highlight of the episode that also featured the roommates going to New Orleans together ahead of a gig by Paul ‘DJ Pauly D’ DelVecchio, 42.
