The legendary late chat show host Jerry Springer has gone viral for a resurfaced clip of him reading a will as he gave a large portion of his assets to two black children he had out of wedlock but it has since been revealed to be a virtual play.

Twitter was buzzing on Monday as a clip made the rounds showing the late television personality – who was buried in a ‘small’ private ceremony – reading a last will.

However it was quickly discovered that it was actually from a 2020 virtual play called Blood Money where he made a cameo.

At the time it was featured in  REFRAMED 2020: A Festival of New Plays on Social Justice presented by Tulane University where he happened to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree.

In the clip Jerry could be seen addressing five people including two who happened to be black.

Interesting: The legendary late chat show host Jerry Springer has gone viral for a resurfaced clip of him reading a will as he gave a large portion of his assets to two black kids he had out of wedlock but it has since been revealed to be a virtual play

He looks at a document and says: ‘Joan kept me away from you with the threat of exposure. She did not keep me from providing for you. You see I told her that if I had to accept the life without you she would not get a red cent of my fortune and that you would be named equally on my will in the event of my passing.

‘But with everything going on in the world right now, I realize that I have to go a step further. Jordan, Megan I leave our home here in New Orleans to you to do whatever you want. The rest of the estate, my properties in Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, my bank accounts, investment portfolios, all liquid and intangible assets everything all of it will go to my children John and Misha.

‘Girls all of your life I’ve been telling you to make your millions and I hope you have. If not, you could always sell the house and split the profit but my entire estate.’

Many who believed the clip was real took to Twitter to react as one wrote: ‘The best Jerry Springer episode ever is Jerry reading his own will [two red exclamation point emojis] He had 2 black children out of wedlock, wife threatens to expose, so he keeps it under wraps until he dies, then leaves all his money to the children he never met. What a legend [two red exclamation point and mind blown emojis]’

Another said: ‘Wow jerry springer really went out with a bang. This is his will and final testament on this earth.’

One Twitter user made light of his highly-popular chat show as they wrote: ‘One thing Jerry Springer is gonna do is keep us shocked and entertained [laughing emoji].’

Meanwhile weeks ago Springer got emotional as he talked about his family perishing in the Holocaust and also revealed that his daughter seeing him perform The Waltz on Dancing With The Stars was his ‘single happiest moment in television’ in wide-ranging final interview before dying aged 79.

Back in March, the television icon sat down for a poignant interview with Genevieve Hassan for podcast Celebrity Catch Up: Life After That Thing I Did just weeks after celebrating his birthday as he told the host: ‘I was happy I reached 79.’

Despite his very impressive 27 years on daytime television, Springer had a rather surprising answer for his favorite moment on the small screen.

Back in 2006, springer participated in season 3 of Dancing With The Stars as he sweetly revealed at the time that his motivation for joining the reality dancing competition show was to learn the waltz for the wedding day of daughter Katie Springer.

On week 4 of the program, Springer finally learned the waltz with help of pro partner Kym Johnson with his daughter in attendance.

He said: ‘When she came to Hollywood the night we did the waltz and then she came out of the audience, that was my single happiest moment in television. I mean that was just, it was magical.

‘So that’s my best memory, it was all worth it because of that.’

Springer had become the fan favorite of the season as fans voted him every week leading to his placement of fifth despite mediocre scores from the judges.

The hour-long final interview took a very emotional turn as Springer began to cry as he talked about discovering the gruesome details of what happened to his family during the Holocaust.

Meanwhile, Springer (seen in the 1990s) got emotional as he talked about his family perishing in the Holocaust and also revealed that his daughter seeing him perform The Waltz on Dancing With The Stars was his 'single happiest moment in television' in wide-ranging final interview  with Genevieve Hassan for podcast Celebrity Catch Up: Life After That Thing I Did

Podcast host Hassan talked about his appearance on BBC genealogy show Who Do You Think You Are? which aired in the UK back in August 2008 as he was joined by sister Evelyn Springer.

On the show experts do research on a subject’s ancestry and will take them to the site of a significant moment in the family history.

Springer explained: ‘Sadly in our story we wound up going to concentration camps initially and the toughest one was my mom’s mom was exterminated in Chełmno  and Chełmno was an extermination camp where you were only there for a night and a day.’

He explained that his family were taken from their homes in Berlin to a ghetto in Poland called Woodge.

The chat show host explained: ‘And this was all information we knew nothing about  and among the many sad parts about this is mom and dad never knew any of this.

‘In other words, they knew their parents had been taken, but it isn’t like you’re taken to a camp, you send a postcard. Your parents are taken when you’re just 30 something and you have no idea where they are or what happened to that Nothing.

‘And they lived the rest of their lives never knowing what happened and here Evelyn and I, we get to find all the details.’

Springer described the tough living conditions where his grandmother lived for six months in Woodge before being taken to Chełmno, exterminated, and dumped in a ditch with several others.

He said: 'When she came to Hollywood the night we did the waltz and then she came out of the audience, that was my single happiest moment in television. I mean that was just, it was magical. So that's my best memory, it was all worth it because of that.'

His voice began to tremble as he talked about visiting the site as he said: ‘And when you see it, it’s just, it’s unbelievable. It’s just unbelievable.

‘And remember all these people they were just killed not because anything that they did. it’s just because of what they were. They happen to be Jewish.

‘That’s the only reason they were massacred and killed and wiped out. And that because the fundamental principle of your life.’

He went on to explain that stories like his ancestors in the Holocaust paved the way for his liberal political beliefs explaining that there is ‘no judgement.’

At the end of the podcast, television titan Jerry (pictured in September 2019) offered up his advice to the young people of today as he said: 'Really work hard at whatever job you have and someone will notice. As sure as you are at what you want to be, keep your mind open as you don’t know what you’re going to be doing 20 years from now'

The star was born in February 1944, in Highgate tube station, London, which his parents were using as a bomb shelter.

His parents, Richard and Margot, were German Jews who fled to England during the Holocaust, in which other relatives were killed in Nazi gas chambers.

They arrived in the United States when he was five and settled in the Queens borough of New York City, where Springer got his first Yankees baseball gear on his way to becoming a lifelong fan.

Springer died aged 79 just months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, his family revealed on Thursday.

They asked fans to make charitable donations in his name after the TV host passed away ‘peacefully’ at his home in Chicago after his health took a turn for the worse.

Tributes have flooded in for the ‘irreplaceable’ talent, with his family adding: ‘As he always said, take care of yourself, and each other.’

The legendary TV host passed away ‘peacefully’ at his home in Chicago after his health took a turn for the worse, a spokesman for his relatives said

Appearing to hint at his illness, Springer said during an interview last year he wanted to retire while he was ‘still healthy’, following NBCUniversal canceling his latest show Judge Jerry. He added: ‘I don’t have to make a living. I want to enjoy life.’

Springer was known for hosting the smash hit ‘The Jerry Springer Show’ for 27 years, becoming America’s guilty pleasure for wild and raucous TV moments.

He also had a wide-ranging political career, even becoming the mayor of Cincinnati in 1977 – and even considered a run for Ohio state governor.

Family spokesman Jene Galvin said: ‘Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word.

‘He’s irreplaceable and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart and humor will live on.’

On his Twitter profile, Springer jokingly declared himself as ‘Talk show host, ringmaster of civilization’s end.’

He also contended that the people on his show volunteered to be subjected to whatever ridicule or humiliation awaited them.

His audience would cheer his name, as his outrageous guests would get into crazy fights – with many expletive-filled rants being bleeped out.

Springer called it ‘escapist entertainment,’ while others saw the show as contributing to a dumbing-down decline in American social values.

He often told people, tongue in cheek, that his wish for them was ‘may you never be on my show.’

His show was so popular in the 90’s that he even managed to top Oprah Winfrey’s program in several cities.

The show went off the air in 2018, but Springer then created his courtroom show, ‘Judge Jerry,’ which ran for three seasons.

After more than 4,000 episodes, the show never strayed from its core salaciousness – with some of the last episodes titled: ‘Stripper Sex Turned Me Straight,’ ‘Stop Pimpin´ My Twin Sister,’ and ‘Hooking Up With My Therapist.’

In a ‘Too Hot For TV’ video released as his daily show neared 7 million viewers in the late 1990s, Springer offered a defense against disgust.

Springer said: ‘Look, television does not and must not create values. It´s merely a picture of all that’s out there – the good, the bad, the ugly.

‘Believe this: The politicians and companies that seek to control what each of us may watch are a far greater danger to America and our treasured freedom than any of our guests ever were or could be.’

His final TV appearance came on last season’s The Masked Singer, performing as ‘The Beetle’ to sing a Frank Sinatra Classic.

Springer is survived by his daughter Katie, who is deaf and blind, and sister Evelyn.

David Hasselhoff paid tribute to Springer, whom he described as a ‘great friend’ in a tweet on Thursday.

He said: ‘I never thought I would lose a special friend who actually subbed for me as Captain Hook in the Wimbledon pantomime.

‘He was a terrific, terrific person and I am saddened by his passing. What becomes of a broken heart?’
