Always one to put a lot of thought into her fashion choices, Monáe (born Janelle Monáe Robinson), 37, arrived for her interview at Sirius in a form-fitting black minidress that came down to about the middle of her thighs.
During the photo-op she also slipped on a cropped black leather jacket, and at times while getting playful pulled it partially off her shoulders.
For contrast, the Kansas City, Kansas native wore a pair of white boots that nearly covered her entire calves, and accessorized with a black Derby-style hat.
Even with the hat on, her long raven tresses flowed down over her chest and past the middle of her back styled in thick braids.
While also being a successful actress and having modeled over the years, Monáe put some of those skills on display by working the camera with various playful poses and facial expressions.
The previous day she appeared to be in her element while mixing it up with fans at the playback in New York, where she could be seen singing and dancing along to the various new songs being played on the sound system.
For this promotional stop, she opted to show off a bit more skin by donning skimpy black shorts with white trim with a white cropped t-shirt that read, ‘Pleasure’, on the front, which is a reference to the new album.
