Ireland Baldwin took to Instagram Monday with a lengthy post about her early days of motherhood, mentioning the support she received from her mother Kim Basinger while making no reference to her father, Alec Baldwin.
The 27-year-old spoke about her experience after she and her partner, musician RAC, 38, welcomed their first child, daughter Holland, earlier this month.
‘I couldn’t be more grateful for my partner‘s parents and my mom who visited,’ the Los Angeles native said in the post.
Ireland’s post came after Alec admittedly ‘forgot’ to include his eldest child into a post in which he shared images of his seven children with wife Hilaria.
The 65-year-old actor called his kids ‘seven reasons to carry on during some tough times,’ referring to the fatal shooting on the set of his film Rust in October of 2021 when a gun he was holding fired, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

‘I’m not gonna lie, without my family, I don’t know what my life would be,’ Baldwin captioned the post, in which the comment thread was populated with users who noticed his count was short.
One user wrote, ‘Don’t you have 8 children?’ while another asked, ‘What about Ireland?’ and another said, ‘Guess Ireland doesn’t count??’
The Oscar-nominated actor quickly followed up acknowledging Ireland and her pregnancy in a separate post.
‘We forgot Billy Preston!’ he said. ‘This one, the first one, is about to make me a grandfather. Oy.’
In the post Monday, Ireland said that she ‘just wanted to write a message here for soon to be moms,’ as ‘getting these words across’ was ‘super important to’ her and she hoped ‘it helps someone even just a little.’
Said the new mom: ‘I really struggled in my pregnancy as many of us do. Not just by puking everywhere.
‘I don’t miss that. As someone who suffers tremendously from health anxiety, pregnancy shifted everything into overdrive.’
Ireland said that she had a number of worries related to keeping the baby healthy, ranging from her caffeine intake to shower temperature to frequent crying spells.

‘I read countless pregnancy horror stories and watched negative birthing video after video until I’d go numb from it all,’ she said.
She said that once she gave birth ‘it all just happened so fast,’ as ‘when she was born, all of this dissolved into nothingness.
‘Nothing ever mattered until that moment,’ she said. ‘I know we’re all different and our birthing stories are different but here’s what I want to share from mine. I found it quite sad.’
She said that ‘women would go out of their way’ to tell her about all of the potential negative side effects a pregnancy entails, from physical changes to sleep shortages to the necessity of nannies and night nurses.
‘But here’s what happened to me,’ Ireland said. ‘Nearly everything everyone told would happen, didn’t.
‘The delivery was intense, but I’ve been in worse pain. She was born. My fears fled. My heart was full. I fallen in love again for a second time.’

Ireland said, ‘A sense of calm has finally washed over me since her arrival and that has in turn made me feel rested … I would birth her hundred more times if I had to. My recovery has been smooth. I’m up and on my feet enjoying this weather and my time with my family at home.’
Ireland wrapped up the lengthy post in saying, ‘Don’t let people tell you how it’s going to be. Life is scary and unpredictable and this process was terrifying but it’s the greatest thing I’ve ever done and ever will do it.
‘Don’t let people scare you. Just take deep breaths and enjoy being pregnant. Even if you’re a waddling, constipated solar system like I was. Because now that she’s out I stare at her little feet, kicking the air and remember what it was like feeling her take me.’
Ireland said that ‘knowing she was protected by my body and now she’s a little person in the world,’ adding, ‘It hasn’t been long at all and I already wish I could stop time.’
