Hilary Duff wishes her daughter Mae a happy second birthday in sweet post as star shares throwback snaps documenting her pregnancy and birth

Hilary Duff took to her Instagram stories on Friday to wish her daughter Mae a happy second birthday.

The How I Met Your Father actress, 35, shared several photos of Mae – who she shares with her husband Matthew Koma – for her youngest daughter’s special day.

She started off the group of photos with a picture of her eldest daughter Banks, four, sitting on her pregnant stomach as all three of them were covered in marker drawings.

Hilary wrote above the photo: ‘Back when our life was a little less loud @matthewkoma.’

The next photo featured Hilary holding Mae as a newborn with Matthew next to her after cutting the cord and the star’s placenta in a bag. .

On that picture, she said: ‘Happy birthday my Mae,’ and added a bear face emoji.

She followed it up with a boomerang photo of her and Mae in the pool as they smiled for the camera.

Another photo featured a shot of Mae in a high chair as she went to eat a small tomato.

‘The girl goes through at least two containers of ‘Matos a week,’ Hilary wrote on the funny picture of her daughter.

The Lizzie McGuire actress finished off her birthday tribute with two final photos, one of which was of Mae and Banks posing in a grocery store aisle as they both held giant Slurpee cups.

Mae held hers up to her mouth to take a big sip of it as Banks had hers pressed tightly against her chest and sported a mischievous smile on her face.

The mom-of-three wrote: ‘I’m a great mom and give them slurpees,’ with an emoji of a hand holding up a peace sign.

Her last photo was a simple selfie of her and Mae with the words, ‘I love you so much,’ written in between their faces.

The blonde beauty – and her husband of four years – share daughters, Banks and Mae. Hilary’s son Luca is from her previous relationship with Mike Comrie – with whom she was married from 2010 to 2016.

The Cheaper by the Dozen star recently celebrated her firstborn’s birthday earlier in the week with a trip to Disneyland.

The actress took to Instagram to share snaps of Luca and Banks having a fun time and celebrating at the amusement park.

The How I Met Your Father star shared a photo of Luca making his attempt at the enchanted Excalibur sword.

She also posted a video of her excited daughter Banks getting in line for her turn at the famous teacup ride.

Amid the birthday celebrations, Hilary has taken to her social media to fret over grey hair and getting older herself.

Her 43.5M social media followers got a glimpse at a car selfie marked with an arrow pointing to her head: ‘When that gray hair is stronger than the rest.’

Duff told New York Magazine earlier this month, ‘Since I’ve taken up tennis, I’ve been using a lot of sunscreen. I’m trying to get better about reapplying it throughout the day, and this bottle is small enough to throw in my bag.’

She continued: ‘You know when you layer a bunch of products and they start to peel? This doesn’t do that at all. 

‘It makes you look kind of dewy, so if you don’t like that, maybe this isn’t for you. But I love the rosy, iridescent glow it gives me. Banks, my four-year-old, loves it, too, because she feels like she’s wearing makeup – a little highlighter.’
