Halle Berry called out Drake for using her photo without permission to promote his latest single with SZA called Slime You Out – and uploaded a cryptic Instagram post on Friday in response.
The Monster’s Ball actress, 57, who recently stunned at the Michael Kors NYFW show, appeared in cover art for the newly dropped track which was a throwback image of her getting slimed at the 2012 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.
However, the Oscar winner was less than thrilled that her slimed image was being used to promote the collaborative song on social media – which was released on Friday.
She uploaded a message on her main Instagram page which read, ‘Sometimes you have to be the bigger guy…even if you’re a woman!’
While the post didn’t directly mention Drake, 36, she responded to social media users in the comment section where she labeled the music artist’s action as ‘not cool.’

One fan had asked the star her feelings towards her image being used, and Berry replied with, ‘Didn’t get my permission. That’s not cool I thought better of him!
The beauty then explained the reasoning behind the message and penned, ‘Hence my post today. When people you admire disappoint you you have to be the bigger person and move on!’
Others further showed their support for Halle’s stance, with one tying out, ‘Gaining permission from others is always important when using anything that’s theirs (including their image and likeness).’
The follower added, ‘It’s sad that people often disregard the value of respect and courtesy.’
Another wrote, ‘Y’all she has every right to be mad. It’s simple courtesy. It’s her picture and permission is needed. Period!’
While her slimed image was used to promote Slime You Out on social media, the official cover for the track was a drawing created by Drake’s own five-year-old son, Adonis – which is also the cover for his upcoming album: For All The Dogs.
The single officially dropped earlier this week on Friday, September 15, and featured Drake’s ex-girlfriend and fellow singer, SZA.
Both jumped to their main Instagram pages to promote the song and each used the throwback snap of Halle being slimed at the past awards show.

Drake captioned his post simply with a wide-eyed emoji and a green heart emoji, though he didn’t reveal anything else.
SZA – who debuted her Snooze music video with Justin Bieber last month – shared the same image, though she captioned it with a green puking emoji, a face with hand over mouth emoji and a googly eye emoji.
The One Dance rapper initially teased that he would be dropping the track during a recent concert in Austin, Texas for his It’s All a Blur tour.
‘I know y’all are excited to hear the album. I know it’s like two weeks out, but I’m gonna drop a song this week – just to let you know what’s up,’ Drake told the crowd.
Drake revealed that he and SZA had once been together in the lyrics to his 2021 song Mr Right Now.
‘Yeah, said she wanna f*** to some SZA, wait/Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08,’ read the lyrics, though they weren’t entirely accurate.

‘So It was actually 2009 lol,’ SZA tweeted, suggesting that Drake was just trying to rhyme with ‘wait.’ Either way, Drake and SZA were involved in and around the early days of his on-off romance with Rihanna.
Slime You Out is included on Drake’s upcoming album titled, For All The Dogs, which was originally slated to drop later this month on September 22.
However, on Friday, the star took to his Instagram stories to reveal that the release date has been postponed until the following month.
‘Okay my dilemma I am faced with is either cancel shows to finish the album or I complete the mission and drop the album before the last show…’

Drake’s current It’s All a Blur tour is slated to conclude next month on October 9th in Columbus, Ohio. On the new release date, the rapper will be performing in his home city of Toronto.
For All The Dogs is notably the performer’s eighth studio album, and his first solo LP since dropping Honestly, Nevermind in June 2022.
Later that same year, the Grammy winner released the collaborative album titled, Her Loss, with fellow rapper 21 Savage in November.
