Dolly Parton’s top songwriter Cynthia Weil dead at 82: She wrote the country singer’s hit single Here You Come Again and also worked with The Drifters and The Righteous Brothers

Legendary songwriter, Cynthia Weil, has passed away at the age of 82 on Thursday, reported TMZ. 

Weil is known for penning hits such as Dolly Parton’s Here You Come Again, On Broadway by The Drifters, and also You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feelin’ by The Righteous Brothers. 

The star’s daughter, Jenn Mann, 58, also known as psychotherapist Dr. Jenn Mann on VH1’s Couples Therapy, shared a heartfelt message about her late mother to TMZ.  

Cynthia, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010, welcomed Jenn with husband and fellow songwriter, Barry Mann, 84, whom she tied the knot with in 1961. 

‘My mother, Cynthia Weil, was the greatest mother, grandmother and wife our family could ever ask for,’ Jenn stated. ‘She was my best friend, confidant, and my partner in crime and an idol and trailblazer for women in music.’

Her family and loved ones also informed the outlet, ‘Cynthia Weil’s Grammy award winning lyrics touched the hearts and souls of hundreds of millions of people around the world, making her one of the most iconic songwriters of the 20th Century.’ 

Her husband, Barry, stated, ‘I’m a lucky man. I had two for one, my wife and one of the greatest songwriters in the world, my soul and inspiration.’ 

The two lovebirds, who celebrated over 60 years of marriage, also co-wrote songs together during the course of their successful careers.
