Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift show love for each other at MTV VMAs after YEARS of feud rumors
Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift were basically best friends at the MTV Music Video Awards this past Tuesday.
Demonstrating no sign of a rift — despite rumors of a reported feud for years — the 33-year-old Eras Tour headliner was spotted jamming out to the 31-year-old Camp Rock star as she performed Cool for the Summer (Rock Version) live at the awards ceremony.
After a Taylor Swift fan account posted the cute clip of the Lavender Haze songstress jamming out to Demi’s live performance on X, formerly known as Twitter, the Confident singer replied with a smiling face emoji surrounded by three hearts.
The raven haired beauty also follows Taylor on Instagram (the Cruel Summer hitmaker hasn’t followed suit, but she doesn’t follow anyone at the moment on her page.)
Rumors of a feud between the two A-list musical artists began as far back as 2010.

Both singers shared another equally famous friend — Selena Gomez, 31.
When the Sonny With A Chance star was asked a question about her Barney And Friends co-star and longtime best friend in 2010 by a fan, Demi famously snapped, ‘Ask Taylor.’
Tension between the two entertainers continued for years, with the Sorry Not Sorry songstress tweeting out, ‘Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I’ll be impressed,’ after Taylor quietly made a $250K donation to Kesha when she was locked in a legal battle with Dr. Luke.
However, Demi never directly called out her alleged blonde-haired rival over the years, only vaguely alluding to her problems with the Anti-Hero singer during an interview with Refinery 29 in 2016.
Referring to her viral rumored dig at Taylor tweet, Demi admitted, ‘I got too passionate.’
Not apologizing for what she tweeted, the Heart Attack singer added, ‘I get carried away on Twitter, and that’s what I said, and that’s that.’
Despite her refusal to admit any wrongdoing, Demi explained why she felt so frustrated — ‘There’s nothing positive that comes from pitting women against each other. There are women that I don’t get along with, and that’s fine.’
She added, ‘My thing is, don’t brand yourself a feminist if you don’t do the work.’
After the Teardrops on My Guitar crooner went to legal battle with Scooter Braun over the rights to her music, Demi defended the talent manager in 2019, calling him a ‘good man’ on her Instagram stories.

The recent awards ceremony wasn’t the first time the two award winning divas have buried the hatchet.
Back in 2019 Demi showed some love for Taylor’s 7th album, Lover.
Sharing a note on her Instagram stories, the outspoken La La Land singer wrote, ‘Life’s too short for women not to support other women.’
She added, ‘Especially when women release great music. Great job Taylor Swift.’
