David Harbour gave fans of Stranger Things some hope on Thursday after he teased a return to filming the sci-fi series at the BoxLunch Gala in Los Angeles.

With the SAG-AFTRA strike now over, the actor, 48, confirmed he would be back on set for the highly-anticipated final season of the Netflix hit, where he plays beloved police chief Jim Hopper.

‘I mean, we got to film that last season of Stranger Things, don’t we? I got to be down there, like, in a couple of days. We got to get going — we’re late,’ he said when asked of his plans following news of the strike ending, per Variety.

The actor added that within the 24 hours of the strike’s end, he has been ‘getting a lot of calls’ to finalize his set schedule.

‘We have a while to shoot and to edit but we’re going to work as hard and as fast as we possibly can to get it to people because I know they love the show as much as we do and I can’t wait for them to see what’s up next, it’s really exciting stuff,’ he continued, per The Hollywood Reporter. ‘The scripts are great.’

He added: ‘I feel like a horse getting ready and the gates are about to open, there’s all of this drive and all this passion to do it.’

Filming for the last season of the Duffer Brothers’ popular Netflix series came to a halt in May due to the onset of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

At the gala, Harbour admitted that the strike had been ‘really tough,’ per THR.

‘I think that there’s a piece of me psychically that processes the world through my work, through acting; I love it so much and I haven’t been able to do it and it’s been driving me a little bit nuts,; he explained.

Harbour’s portrayal of Hopper became a fan favorite for combining a gruff demeanor with a hidden tenderness.

‘I just love that show and I love that [Jim Hopper] character so much; it’s the last season and I’m looking forward to just diving in with my whole heart into this guy that, certainly career wise, has made a huge difference in my life but personally, has been the character in film and TV who I’ve loved the most, that I’ve fallen in love with,” he added at the gala.

‘I’m excited to give him the finale that I’ve wanted for him since we started. I just love it so much, I can’t wait to pour my heart into it.’

Even as Stranger Things approaches its conclusion, the husband of Lily Allen expressed a reluctance to completely part with his character, revealing which parts of Hopper he hopes to carry with him.

‘I hope not his broken, inability to express his emotions directly… But certainly his strength, his courage, his dedication. His powerful love for his family, and for right and wrong — his ideas of justice,’ he said.

Netflix has yet to confirm a release date for Stranger Things’ fifth season.

Ready to film: 'We have a while to shoot and to edit but we¿re going to work as hard and as fast as we possibly can to get it to people,' he added
