Dascha Polanco is a grandma at 40! Orange is the New Black star prepares for new role as she announces the pending arrival of her first grandchild

Dascha Polanco is preparing for a new role – grandmother – at just 40 years old. 

The firm and fit 40-year-old actress announced the good news on social media. 

‘I just got a promotion,’ the Orange is the New Black actress wrote September 12 on Instagram as she cradled her daughter Dasany Kristal Gonzalez’s baby bump.

Dasany, 24, looked elegant in a baby blue gown with a sparkling sequined lace and sheer nude bodice with a satin skirt.

Her long raven locks were styled in loose waves.  

Dascha, kept with the theme in a halter dress featuring a darker blue mottled print.

Her shoulder length red hair was brushed away from her face and she wore dark blue flower earrings. 

Both mother and look-alike daughter wore glamorous makeup with a nude pink lip. 

‘Promoted to Glamma?!?’ queried one fan.  Another referred to her as ‘Abuela Dash.’ 

Dasany, who played a younger version of Dascha’s OITNB character Daya Diaz in season five, has announced she is expecting a baby boy. 

She shared photos from the shower with her partner Dione, but did not reveal his last name.  

The young artist was inundated with gifts for the little one at her glamorous celebration.

The theme of the party was ‘We Love You To the Moon and Back.’

Dascha was nearly a decade younger than her daughter when she became a mother for the first time at age 17.  She shares a son, Aryam, 15, with a former partner. 

She told Parents Latina that she was made to feel ashamed at the time she was pregnant with Dasany. 

‘One night, my best friend’s father said, “What you’re doing is horrible,” and he embarrassed me in front of everyone,’ she recalled.

‘I’ll never forget that,’ she said. ‘But I was making the best decision that I could. I knew that having a baby was going to make my life harder, but I was also determined to turn every obstacle into a blessing.’
