Christine Taylor detailed why she and Ben Stiller rekindled their marriage during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic after a five year split.
The 51-year-old actress appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday where she discussed her relationship with the 57-year-old actor four months after hitting the red carpet together.
Christine told her 48-year-old The Wedding Singer castmate that during the pandemic she and Ben put on a united front along with their two children: 20-year-old daughter Ella and 17-year-old son Quinlin.
She explained: ‘We always stayed a family unit. So when the pandemic hit and we all had to figure out where to hunker down, we all ended up in our house together with two teenagers and we found this way back.
‘We had so much time to talk, there were no other distractions… It just happened organically.’

‘Family was always a priority, but I think Ben and I both started to grow in different directions. And when we made the decision to separate, it was not something we wanted to talk publicly about or took lightly.’
The Meet The Parents actor and The Wedding Singer star seem to be back on track following a five year separation.
The pair announced they were separating in May 2017 after 17 years of marriage but officially revealed they were back together in February 2022 after reconciling during the pandemic.
Regarding the time that they separated Christine said they ‘were at this impasse of, “Let’s figure this out — what’s best at this chapter in our lives?” That’s going back three or four years. And [during] that time apart, we got to know who we are.
‘I think we have these growth spurts, even as adults. And we needed time to figure that out.’
Christine and Ben proved their rekindled love is going strong four months ago as they posed for photos at opening night of the Broadway show The Old Man And The Pool in NYC back in November.
The couple first tied the knot in 2000 at a destination wedding in Hawaii, and they share two children together, daughter Ella, 20, and son, Quinlin, 17.

Ben kept his look stylishly casual for the special premiere of the Broadway show, which stars comedian Mike Birbiglia.
The award-winning star donned a pair of black pants and added a dark navy button up on top. A black undershirt was worn to complete the overall ensemble for the evening.
He slipped into a comfortable pair of blue Adidas sneakers, which were easily secured with black laces.
The Night At The Museum actor added a black, wool coat to stay warm in the chilly, late fall temperatures.
Christine was fashionably chic at the Broadway premiere, and opted to wear a pair of black, high-waisted dress pants.
A satin tank top with a lace trim was tucked into the waist of the bottoms, which were secured with a thin, tan belt.
The actress threw on a black and white-colored tweed coat for a stylish touch. The mother of two slipped into a pair of open-toed black heels to coincide with her monochromatic ensemble.
Her blonde hair was parted to the side, and flowed down past her shoulders in light, elegant waves.

Ben and Christine first crossed paths while working on a TV pilot in 1999, which eventually never aired.
The couple entered a whirlwind romance and became engaged shortly after. In 2000, the two lovebirds said ‘I do’ on a scenic beach in Hawaii.
The two stars welcomed their daughter, Ella, in 2002, and their son, Quinlin, three years later in 2005.
The couple have had the opportunity to appear in multiple projects together, such as Zoolander (2001) and Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004).
After 17 years of marriage, the two made the decision to separate in May 2017. In a joint statement to People at the time, the couple expressed, ‘With tremendous love and respect for each other, and the 18 years we spent together as a couple, we have made the decision to separate.’
‘Our priority will continue to be raising our children as devoted parents and the closest of friends. We kindly ask that the media respect our privacy at this time,’ the statement concluded.
Despite their separation, Ben and Christine were spotted together on a number of occasions over the years. In 2018, the two were seen attending events together, such as the 2018 Project ALS Gala alongside their children.
