Cheryl Burke comments on ex-husband Matthew Lawrence wanting children with TLC’s Chilli, 52: ‘I really, truly hope he can actually have a kid’

Cheryl Burke has opened up about Matthew Lawrence wanting to start a family with 52-year-old singer Chilli from TLC.

She made her comments while appearing on The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever With Chris Harrison on Thursday.

The 38-year-old Dancing with the Stars alum finalized her divorce from the Boy Meets World star in September after three years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. 

Burke wished her ex luck in his new relationship, saying, ‘I really truly hope he can actually have a kid with Chilli. I think that’s amazing. 

‘I think he’s wanted that,’ she added.

Then Cheryl commented they had discussed having kids during their marriage.

‘He comes from a huge family, and there were definitely conversations, but I always had said, “As long as I had to shove my body in a dance costume, me thinking about being pregnant probably isn’t something I can talk about at the moment,”‘ Cheryl said. 

‘But yes, there were discussions about freezing my eggs,’ she added.

Cheryl also mentioned that although she has been a TLC fan, she doesn’t plan to go to any of their concerts soon. 

She jokingly commented, ‘I’m not going to a concert, but I will still sing along to the song, No Scrubs.’

Cheryl also stated that leaving DWTS was more challenging than her divorce since she worked on the show for nearly 20 years.

In January, the DWTS pro threw shade at her ex-husband after his romance with TLC’s Chilli went public.

She wrote, ‘That was fast,’ on her Instagram Story.

This came after Cheryl dropped a bombshell hint on her TikTok in August, suggesting that Lawrence may have cheated on her.

Lawrence recently gushed about his new girlfriend, Chilli, whom he began dating last year.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, he explained how he met the TLC singer on a last-minute flight.

And when asked if the new couple wants children, he replied, ‘I hope. That’s the game plan. That’s what we’re trying to do.’

The Mrs Doubtfire actor elaborated, ‘My life is in complete bloom right now. I get to spend time with an amazing woman like Chilli.’
