Candace Cameron Bure revealed that she ‘totally forgot’ to get her husband Valeri ‘Val’ Bure a 27th anniversary gift just months after she was branded a ‘bigot’ over her ‘traditional marriage’ views.
The 47-year-old Full House actress – who recently said she prays a new religious movie will enable people to ‘turn to Jesus’ – took to her Instagram to show off several gifts she had received from her 49-year-old former professional hockey player husband.
However, she must have forgotten that it is better to give than receive as she revealed that she did not get Val anything in return.
Candace took to her Instagram Story to make the admission as she said: ‘My husband is so sweet and he always remembers everything on our anniversary and I tend to forget.’
She let out a brief laugh before continuing: ‘And I forgot this year. I didn’t forget it was my anniversary today but Val’s birthday is in June. Father’s Day is in June. My mom’s birthday is in June. My best friend Dylanie is in June.’

Back in February the star revealed her hopes a new faith-based movie will enable people to ‘turn to Jesus.’
The Full House actress – who sparked controversy for saying the Christian network she is now employed by will be focusing on ‘traditional marriage’ rather than same-sex couples – took to Instagram on Friday, February 24 to praise film, Jesus Revolution.
The Kelsey Grammer-helmed film documents the story of late hippie preacher Lonnie Frisbee. Mighty Ducks star Shaun Weiss portrays a Vietnam veteran who is battling back from an addiction to drugs.
Sharing a trailer for the film, Bure wrote: ‘@jesusrevolutionmovie hits theaters THIS FRIDAY, February 24th which means if you didn’t have any weekend plans, now you do!
‘Ultimately I pray this movie is used for His glory, and for people to hear the gospel and turn to Jesus.’
Bure prompted a backlash with an interview she did with the Wall Street Journal. She said her new TV network – Great American Family – would not be featuring gay couples in lead roles, unlike the Hallmark Channel, where she previously starred.
She previously announced she would be leaving the Hallmark Channel back in April, two years after the network released its first LGBTQ holiday movie with a gay lead couple.

Candace explained that she wanted ‘tell stories that have more meaning’ now that she is working with the Great American Family network, a cable television network founded in 1995, that was originally a country music channel.
In April last year, Candace revealed she was moving to the network, because it was a better fit to her ‘brand.’
‘I am constantly looking for ways that I can inspire people to live life with purpose. GAC fits my brand perfectly; we share a vision of creating compelling wholesome content for an audience who wants to watch programming for and with the whole family,’ she wrote.
However, the actress was then slammed when she confirmed this week that she did not expect the network to feature same-sex couples in starring roles. ‘I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core,’ she said.
Last year, Bure revealed that she left the Hallmark Channel party because of the stories it was telling.
‘My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them,’ she explained. ‘I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.’
She later added that she thought ‘Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.’
Great American Family is a cable television network that broadcasts family-oriented programs, much like Hallmark.

Disbelief: JoJo Siwa, who was recently feuding with Bure after calling her the ‘rudest celebrity’ she had ever met, also slammed the actress as ‘rude and hurtful’

‘You know I love you’: Even Candace’s Full House co-star Jodie Sweetin appeared to take a dig at her

Backlash: Twitter users expressed their displeasure after the publication of Bure’s remarks

Backlash: Last year Bure was criticized over the people she followed on social media – however she insisted ‘a follow does not mean an endorsement’
Celebrities like JoJo Siwa and Maren Morris were quick to call Bure’s comments homophobic.
One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton even called Bure a ‘bigot,’ and said ‘I don’t remember Jesus liking hypocrites like Candy. But sure. Make your money, honey. You ride that prejudice wave all the way to the bank,’ in a tweet.
Bure then released another statement to defending herself.
‘All of you who know me, know beyond question that I have great love and affection for all people,’ she told Fox News Digital. ‘It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone.’
