‘Betrayed’ Summer House star Lindsay Hubbard speaks publicly for the first time about her broken engagement with Carl Radke saying it was NOT her decision: ‘My entire life and future was ripped out from underneath me’

Lindsay Hubbard spoke publicly for the first time about her broken engagement with Carl Radke. 

On Thursday, the Summer House star thanked her fans for giving her ‘the space and time to process’ her emotions and ‘grieve the loss of’ her relationship with the man she considered to be her ‘best friend’ for eight years.

‘The last 2 weeks have been the most heartbreaking and emotional weeks of my life. My entire life and future was ripped out from underneath me and I’ve had a hard time making sense of it all – with no answers or closure on why,’ she said in her Instagram statement.

The public relations specialist noted that she feels humiliated ‘by how it went down, and simultaneously heartbroken that it happened in the first place.’

‘My trust has been betrayed, and coming to terms with that has been difficult for me,’ Hubbard added. ‘This was not my decision, and I do not agree with quitting a relationship (at this level) without trying everything possible first.’

The TV personality said that over the past few weeks, Hubbard has worked on finding her ‘own closure and peace.’

‘I am forever grateful to my best friends who have not left my side, and have been picking up the pieces of my heart and life every day from the fallout,’ she concluded. ‘I am still grieving and trying to process all that has happened, but I felt it was important to update you all.’

While speaking directly to her 573,000 followers and loved ones, Hubbard said: ‘From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the love and support from my friends, family, cast mates, and all of you for carrying me through.’

Lindsay and Carl became engaged on August 27, 2022 at Dune Beach in Southhampton.

They first met in 2016 during season one of Summer House but were dating other people at the time. 

They started dating in summer 2019 before quickly going their separate ways. 

In May 2020, Lindsay clarified via Instagram what happened between the two of them. 

‘Unfortunately going into it, Carl didn’t exactly understand that I’m not just dating to date at this point in my life (even if he is my best friend), or that he wasn’t quite ready for the level of commitment I need in a relationship,’ she said.

‘I would like to start by saying thank you for allowing me the space and time to process my emotions, heal, and grieve the loss of not only my relationship, but my friendship with someone I considered my best friend for 8 years,’ the Summer House star told her 573,000 Instagram followers

‘Our expectations were not aligned, which is where it all went wrong.’

‘He owned his s**t and we have both moved on. It took some time and you will continue to see this play out of course,’ she said.

In September 2021, however, they sparked rumors of a reconciliation after they were seen cuddling up in a snap at Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s wedding. 

One month later, they coordinated their Halloween costumes, further fanning romance rumor flames. 

In January 2022, Lindsay confirmed they were dating but not yet boyfriend/girlfriend.

However, days later during Carl’s appearance on What What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked him about her interview and the no label reveal.

Carl said ‘We’re girlfriend-boyfriend.’

The couple were set to walk down the aisle in less than three months. The split comes just two weeks after Lindsay celebrated their upcoming nuptials at a lavish bridal shower attended by Carl. 

Carl made a surprise appearance at the end of the shower, and Lindsay shared snaps of her former fiance arriving to the restaurant with a bouquet of roses. 

‘Carlito showed up and surprised me at the end!’ she captioned the post, along with several lovey-dovey emojis.

Carl also shared snaps from the festivities, along with the gushing caption, ‘You are going to make such a beautiful bride.’ 

The garden-party themed bash was held at the Cathedrale at Moxy East Village in New York City.

Speaking with People, Lindsay said of the party: ‘I have such an amazing group of girlfriends that were not going to let me get away without having a bridal shower.’

According to their Honeyfund page, the couple were set to tie the knot on November 17, 2023.
