Angus Cloud’s mother Lisa says she does not believe her son was suicidal and thinks his possible overdose was accidental

Angus Cloud’s mourning mother Lisa Cloud has spoken out against speculation that her son, who died on Monday, July 31, at 25, intended to take his life.

Lisa used Facebook to share an emotional note that read, ‘Friends, I want you all to know I appreciate your love for my family at this shattered time.

‘I also want you to know that although my son was in deep grief about his father’s untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was a joyful one.’

She detailed the Euphoria star’s final activities, which included ‘reorganizing his room,’ leading her to believe Angus was not suicidal.

She additionally noted that the late actor had mentioned wanting to help family members with college, another indication that he didn’t plan to end his life.

The mother-of-three said in her post, ‘I don’t know if or what he may have put in his body… I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art projects, fell asleep and didn’t wake up. 

‘We may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically, but it’s abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world.’

It was added, ‘Social media posts have suggested his death was intentional. I want you to know that is not the case. To honor his memory, please make random acts of kindness part of your daily life.’

It comes after a family statement confirming his untimely death suggested he may have died by suicide.

According to TMZ, sources also shared that Angus had been having suicidal thoughts recently.

Cloud died at his family home in Oakland, California after he struggled with the loss of his father, his family said in a statement.

His mother, who called 911, reported it as a ‘possible overdose.’

The actor was staying with his family as he tried to cope with his grief, the outlet said.

Angus, born Conor Angus Cloud (named after his father Conor Cloud), played the character Fezco on Euphoria from 2019 until 2022. 

Sydney Sweeney took to Instagram on Tuesday afternoon to pay tribute to her Euphoria costar.

The 25-year-old Handmaid’s Tale actress posted several throwback images with the late star and added a heartfelt caption.

She joined her other HBO costar Zendaya, 26, who also broke her silence on Cloud’s unexpected death in an Instagram post.

‘Angus you were an open soul, with the kindest heart, and you filled every room with laughter. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to post, and im struggling to find all the words,’ Sydney wrote.

The Spokane, Washing native added, ‘You will be missed more than you know, but I’m so blessed to have known you in this lifetime, and I’m sure everyone who has ever met you feels the same. 

‘This heartache is real and I wish we could’ve had one more hug and 711 run. All my love is with you,’ she ended the somber note.

Angus’ mom reported he had no pulse when she called 911, and the actor was pronounced dead at the scene when responders arrived.

‘It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a on, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways,’ his family shared.

‘Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,’ the statement continued.

‘Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.

‘We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss,’ the message concluded.
