An Incredible comeback! Katy Perry returns to American Idol in skintight Elastigirl costume to celebrate Disney Night after skipping last week’s show to perform at Coronation

Katy Perry wore a skintight Elastigirl costume while celebrating Disney Night on Sunday’s episode of American Idol on ABC.

The 38-year-old pop superstar after missing last week’s episode stepped out wearing the iconic red-and-black family superhero costume from the 2004 Pixar film The Incredibles and its 2018 sequel Incredibles 2.

Katy sported a red wig with retro 1960s style to get into character as Mrs. Incredible and her accurate costume also included a black eye mask.

She revealed her Disney Night costume as she took the stage with fellow judges Lionel Richie, 73, and Luke Bryan, 46, at the start of the two-hour live show.

Katy started serving as a judge on American Idol in 2018 during season 16, which was its first on ABC after airing for 15 years on Fox.

American Idol has featured a Disney Night since its move to ABC.

The Incredibles was produced by Pixar Animation Studios, which has been a subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios since 2006.

Helen Parr, aka Elastigirl and Mrs. Incredible, has been voiced by Holly Hunter, 65, in The Incredibles and its sequel. She is married to Bob Parr aka Mr. Incredible, and they are the parents of Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack.

Katy during the Disney Night episode told Wé Ani, 23, after her first performance that she was ‘incredible.’

‘Thank you, Mrs. Incredible,’ Wé told her while standing next to host Ryan Seacrest, 48.

Wé and her mother Jackie also teamed up with a costumed Mrs. Incredible while the mother-daughter duo were visiting Disneyland in Anaheim, California, ahead of Disney Night.

The Disney Night episode featured performances by the top five contestants remaining in the competition.

In addition to Katy being in costume, the Disney Night episode featured a performance by Halle Bailey, 23, singing Part Of Your World from her upcoming live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1989 animated film The Little Mermaid.

The five finalists also were shown enjoying spending time at Disneyland with family and rehearsing with Disney star Sofia Carson, 30.

Katy last season fell out of her chair while wearing an Ariel costume from The Little Mermaid during Disney Night.

She had trouble walking in the rigid costume and was helped by fellow judges Lionel and Luke and host Ryan as she took her center seat at the judges’ table.

They wheeled Katy in using a dolly and helped the singer get in her chair, but she fell out of her chair while Ryan was introducing the first contestant.

The Disney Night episode opened with Grammy-winner Sara Bareilles, 43, and the top five contestants singing When You Wish Upon A Star from Disney’s Pinocchio.

Katy in her Mrs. Incredible outfit had a special message on Mother’s Day.

‘I’m doing this for all the moms out there! ‘ Katy said while straddling her leg across the judge’s table.

‘That desk will never be the same,’ quipped host Ryan.

‘I do wish there was a little bit more air conditioning in here,’ Katy said in the skintight outfit.
