The world is on the verge of becoming 100% totally ‘connected’ to each other via the technologies of the internet and the tools used to access it. Many, if not most, people believe that this fact and this trend toward global ‘connectivity’ should be viewed as an inherently ‘good’ or at least an ‘amoral’ thing.
However, I submit this is not the case in the slightest, and that in reality, the opposite is true. I submit that a completely ‘connected’ world is a very bad development, in fact, it is inherently evil.
I realize this will seem like an astonishing claim to almost anyone born between 15 to 25 years ago. In fact, the vast majority of people 30 years old and younger probably would think my assertion is absurd.
I understand the rejection especially by these age groups because they have never really known a world where the internet wasn’t a thing and interconnection for much of the globe wasn’t available. Moreover, this interconnection is virtually instantaneous and expandable to an amazing degree via reposting on social media or commenting during a video live stream event for example.
In other words, these younger people cannot truly imagine a world where they are not simply connected to their local friends and associates; but to individuals and groups all over the world! However, I am convinced that even our current level of global connection, though not yet complete, is already manifesting evil that is an inevitable result of just such connections.
The elite Left’s vision of global ‘connectivity’
The Left has had a vision of a global populace living in the ‘Marxist utopia’ for over 150 years. Moreover, they have tried to implement this fantasy land in reality through bloody revolution followed by horrific totalitarian rule on every continent with the possible exception of Antarctica.
They have also produced abject poverty and virtual slavery every time their social experiment has been tried. Yet, remarkably, they remain undeterred by continual failures and have doggedly continued to try and produce success to the current day.
Moreover, their latest attempt is the most ambitious to date. The ominous factor in this plan is that they are going after the whole globe, and they might just pull it off.
That’s because the pathways the elitist Left is planning on using to accomplish this feat are almost completely in place via the internet. ‘Global connectivity’ is the goal and the proliferation of the internet and the tools to access it are the pathways to that nefarious goal.
The elitists believe that once the entire world is ‘connected’ they will be able to use the connections to effectively and in time actually erase all national borders and basically ‘shuffle’ human resources as they see fit because they will be the ones controlling ‘global connections’ in the worldwide technocracy of the near future. In this brief video, Joe Allen explains the Leftist ideal of ‘global connectivity,’ the ramifications of it, and introduces the foremost advocate for it, the “Davos man,” Parag Khanna.
As Allen explains in the video, Khanna is part of the World Economic Forum [WEF] a group of “progressive” elite types like Klaus Schwab, author of the influential book The Great Reset. The WEF is too large an item to be covered in this piece but I would highly recommend the reader research this for themselves.
It is difficult to overstate the peril this kind of thinking represents for the very concept of liberty and civilization. In the video, at one point Khanna states that “North America does not need more walls. It needs more connections,” which was greeted with hardy applause from the elite attendees of this conference in 2017.
This was a shot taken at President Trump’s border wall, but it was more than simply scoring a political point. This was a vision of true globalism where national sovereignty over any portion of the land is rejected.
It was presented with a kind of inevitability as if such a future society were fated simply because of the expansion of digital connection technology. A little more than four short years later, the world is on the very precipice of all national borders dissolving to favor ‘global connectivity.’
Committed Leftists from both the common to the elite believe this is a very good development and should be embraced by all. They would argue that this “brings people together” and makes for greater liberty because of this.
However, as has been demonstrated by the elite Leftists at Twitter and Facebook, your freedom to speak an alternate narrative is ‘cancelled’ on these platforms regardless of your position. Their latest example is the banning of Dr. Robert Malone from Twitter.
Dr. Malone is the inventor of the mRNA technology that is the key mechanism used in the COVID jabs with the exception of the Johnson and Johnson vaxx. Since he recently came out against mandatory jabs and none whatsoever for children, he is now going against the Leftist narrative and has now been cancelled by the overlords at Twitter.
If the full aim of ‘global connectivity’ is achieved by these people, it will signal the inevitable elimination of freedom for anyone other than these globalist elites. Khanna shows this premise by what he proposes in books and presentations in Davos, Switzerland, and elsewhere.
He wants to see young people in the global South move en masse to the decrepit North. He wants technocratic elites to manage this human flow using digital passports, artificial intelligence analysis, and top-down social engineering. He wants to erase national borders and re-map the planet according to infrastructure connectivity. He wants mega-cities to come alive with smart sensors and our bodies to swarm with nanobots.
Parag Khanna is not one of those who run things at WEF or in any other Leftist enclave, nor is he wealthy enough on his own to make his vision come true. However, he is a key influencer of those elites, i.e., the Bill Gates and George Soros types, who are wealthy and powerful enough to accomplish this dystopian digital slavery of humanity.
The modern manifestation of the ‘Tower of Babel’
As is the case with more and more of our modern world, biblical examples are instructive and serve as potent lessons concerning what humans should embrace as good, and what should be rejected as evil. Perhaps one of the best illustrations comes from the well-known but somewhat poorly understood account of the building and destruction of the tower of Babel.
The account is found in the eleventh chapter of the book of Genesis. The situation at that ancient time was that all humankind spoke one language and as many of them settled in a particular place called Shinar, the people came together and agreed on a plan to consolidate their power by building a mighty city and constructing a tower in the midst of the city.
Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.” Genesis 11:4 [ESV]
The key statement here is not the idea of building the city or the great tower. Rather it was their motive stated as “let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.”
This motive was a desire contrary to the commands of God from earlier in Genesis 9:1 when the LORD had instructed Noah and his sons after the flood, to “be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” Thus, instead of accepting God’s command and humanity’s status as designated by God, they sought to create their own status and fame apart from God and in defiance of His will.
The dangers and potential evil this project presented were lost on the people themselves as they were blinded by their own ambition. However, God was well aware of the evil and stated it in verse 6.
And the LORD said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. [italics added]
The LORD, as always, understands us far better than we understand ourselves. Humanity was still seeking to elevate themselves to the place of God, i.e., to “be like God,” as in the original sin of Adam and Eve.
The peril here wasn’t building the city or the tower. The peril was that if they were successful, “nothing they propose to do will now be impossible for them.”
God knows that the nature of human beings was not then and is not now directed naturally toward what is righteous but instead toward what is evil. Humanity united through its own effort would have resulted in those who were the most powerful enslaving those who were the least powerful and destroying the few who would object.
God’s remedy for this was to eliminate the ability to speak and understand each other by “confusing” their language and creating a multitude of different languages so that their unity would be shattered and they would be scattered throughout the world. The march of history since then has shown that the prideful evil of empires arising that attempted to reach unity by forcing everyone else to live under despotic regimes.
The globalists of today are trying to create a digital ’empire’ covering the entire world in a technocratic unity under the control of Leftist elites who believe they are superior to everyone else and therefore have the right to dominate everyone else. “Global connectivity” is their pathway to despotism and the slavery of the masses.
At present, there are two entities that stand in opposition to the nefarious plans of globalist Leftism. The first is the ideal that individual human beings have inherent rights given by God as demonstrated in America and the free societies that still exist.
The second is the LORD God who will eventually pass His judgment upon the world and remake the very cosmos at the end of time. Perhaps He will intervene at this particular point to confound the efforts at digital global tyranny as He did with those at Babel and grant us a brief respite so that more will repent and join His kingdom.
If the LORD has chosen to provide a temporary judgment at this moment of history, perhaps using America as a vehicle to stop the digital despots, there is still time for those who have not yet trusted in Christ to come to Him. Yet that will only delay the final sentence and it would be best for each person to give themselves, their heart, and their soul to the LORD before He puts an end to all evil or before each person meets death and their individual fate is sealed.
You see, dear reader, we were never meant to be enslaved by others. We were instead meant to give ourselves to serve the One who made the universe and provided this world for us. However, it is your choice to do so, and the LORD will never force your decision.
As Joshua told the Israelites long ago,
And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15 [ESV]
