CANAAN — In a stunning display while playing the board game Monopoly, Esau exchanged the highly coveted properties of Boardwalk and Park Place for a single bowl of Campbell’s Soup.
Witnesses report that the incident occurred during the game’s negotiation phase when Esau suddenly found himself craving the mouthwatering aroma of his brother Jacob’s delicious, hot-off-the stove Campbell’s Soup.
“Yeah Esau, you should definitely make this deal! If anything, I’m the one losing on this trade,” added his brother Jacob, trying to hold back his laughter. “You totally won’t regret trading those two worthless properties away in just a few turns!”
Players around the table tried to intervene, offering advice and desperately attempting to save Esau from his hasty decision. “Are you sure about this, Esau? Think of the potential rent! The sheer power and influence you’d have with those properties!” pleaded one player, shaking his head in disbelief.
It was too late. Esau had already made his choice, and the consequences were immediate. According to sources, regret washed over him like a piping hot bowl of Campbell’s cream of mushroom soup as he realized the enormity of his mistake.
To add insult to injury, Jacob proceeded to exploit Esau’s misfortune mercilessly. Charging exorbitant rents and building luxury hotels on Boardwalk, Jacob laughed all the way to the bank, while Esau struggled to make ends meet with Vintner Avenue and a worthless bowl of soup.
At publishing time, while Esau was away using the bathroom, Jacob impersonated Esau and traded with their father Isaac requesting all four Railroads as his birthright.
