Since one of the most controversial yet simultaneously effective and historic Presidencies of at least two generations is apparently coming to a close, now might be a good time to reflect…
As President Trump leaves office with yet another impeachment looming (clearly a continuation of the baseless attempt previously engineered by the partisan establishment of the lower house last year), millions upon millions of Americans still approve of his performance and an equal number believe the incoming administration–given the plethora of evidence never even considered by the courts–is indeed illegitimate.
Meanwhile, millions of the same never-Trumpers consistently spew the hate-filled rhetoric that has often been referred to as TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome).
One can’t help but think of Karl Jung when hearing most of the pundits’ tirades against the 45th President of the United States. As though a gyrating crank was plugged into the side of their heads, as Jung explained, those imprisoned by ideological fervor sound like broken records when asked about a particular person, like Trump, whom they have been programmed to despise. The same can be said for those individuals indoctrinated by Socialist and Communist ideas. Never-Trumpers became the cult against populism and traditional American values. Indeed, they still are.
Since there is hardly ever an argument against a policy, the never-Trumper cult members often begin with what a despicable human Donald Trump is. It’s as though they all have had run-ins with him at some point in their real estate or construction contracting careers in New York–those careers that never existed, where one rubs elbows with one of the wealthiest developers in the world. Others might begin with the Hitleresque, racist character traits, which oddly have never actually shown up in policy or manifested in remarks or speeches he has ever made while in office.
Quite the contrary, as the economy bears out, Trump has done more for Black, African American, Latino, and other communities in America than any other president before him. This might explain why he gained a record number of votes from Latinos and African Americans as a republican candidate. Perhaps it’s not that he did so much for these “groups”; rather, those added votes came in because of good policies for ALL Americans.
To be fair, let’s take a few of the criticisms cranked out by the never-Trumper cultists and see what we can make of them.
To start, cultists should be reminded that almost no human is perfect (except for themselves of course, and Jesus), especially no human in the limelight of celebrity status for the better part of their adult life. And celebrity tends to make people targets of unscrupulous and rather opportunistic media players who just love to stir the proverbial pot.
No celebrity has endured more hypocrisy and harangue from the media than Donald Trump. No one has been more persecuted in hopes of shaking money from the Trump tree by those looking to exploit their “victimhood” like the individuals that came front and center even during his 2015 campaign. The laundry list that rolls off most cultist’s tongues is long: racist, bigot, Nazi, horrible human who cheated on his ex-wife with a porn star, etc. Some of these items may have validity because Trump is not blameless in any of his exploits. Still, more of it results from four years of big tech social media and corporate-owned media propaganda machines.
For example, the disabled reporter “mockery” was debunked weeks after the story hit the press and airwaves. Though no one would have seen the reasoned, measured articles that were run in media news outlets explaining that Trump has a tendency to make the same body motions when mocking anyone, and confirmed that he had never even met the reporter he was mocking to know he even suffered from a disability. Granted, it doesn’t excuse the poor taste if you’re looking for someone who acts “Presidential” rather than for someone concerned about a nation’s business and making it great again, which he did in so many ways.
As for the Stormy Daniels fiasco, they often forget or don’t know, that Trump countersued her for defamation and won, so to speak conclusively that her allegations were true would be believing the sensationalist press, and her attorney Michael Avenatti, who is now in prison on charges of extortion. So while Daniels was extorting a presidential candidate for money, Avenatti, ironically, was one-upping her; he was extorting a corporation and exploiting Stormy to make thousands from a book deal and to become the new CNN darling and a political adversary to Trump, and even possible candidate for President. A fact so sad that one has to laugh.
In terms of “denouncing” the neo-Natzis, Trump offered a timely statement about the Charlottesville riots that was predictably skewed and spun by the pressers and AP. The actual remarks in Trump’s speech were as follows: “To anyone who acted criminally in this weekend’s racist violence, you will be held fully accountable. Justice will be delivered. As I said on Saturday, we condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence.” Notice he references earlier remarks he made condemning the behavior that the AP failed to highlight.

Many who look down their noses also cite his fumbling explanations about COVID-19 treatments during the first few weeks of the pandemic media frenzy. The remarks about “bleach” had to do with his attempt to explain the new antiviral medications being discussed. They were, in fact, to be given intravenously. There are a host of antibacterial and viral meds that kill viruses in the lungs (in the form of inhalers) and in the bloodstream via injection.
It has recently been noted that some of the clinical trials of ultraviolet lights have a “disinfectant” effect on COVID. While the cult members might not agree with Trump’s rhetorical attempts, they forget, in their madness, that he is not an epidemiologist or scientist. He was attempting to use layman’s terms to explain to the masses what researchers were pursuing and discovering.
The elitists in the press were the ones who decided that making fun of the analogy was the best way to report the information, as opposed, of course, to doing actual research and reporting and clarifying—which is what journalists used to do as professionals and still do with Presidents they adore (one can only imagine the excuses they’ll come up with for a Biden administration). Journalists might have actually gained readers, respect, and even advertisers by reporting about the promising treatments on the horizon during those weeks instead of fear-mongering and attempting to exacerbate their readers’ panic with spin on Trump. These medical methods that Trump touched upon, by the way, have actually come to fruition.
Many refer to the wonders of Obama and all the Peter Pan-like magic that surrounded his character, charisma, and presidency in an attempt to contrast Trump’s term. These “whataboutisms” with Obama don’t hold up well, however, under examination; aside from the Chinese-owned, big tech fact-checkers, most journalists who have followed the shadowy past of Obama have found a history of “rich kid” privilege, unapologetic drug use, missing transcripts from fairly respectable universities where he claimed to have attended (while professors claim to have never had him in required classes), and a penchant for extremist ideologues like Jeremiah Wright. As for Obama’s scandals during his presidency, they are many.
Some resort to the plain and simple ad hominem attack that Trump is just a “horrible human” with too much dirt to be President. I would defer to Julian Assange’s famous remark to Megyn Kelly when asked in 2016 why WikiLeaks isn’t releasing dirt on Donald Trump. He said, “it’s really hard for us to release anything worse than what comes out of his mouth every day…I mean, it’s part of his charismatic appeal.” In other words, aside from his off-the-cuff, New York style attitude, there isn’t any dirt.
One doesn’t have to be a Trump apologist to grow weary of the same rhetoric that comes from Trump haters.
Many in this country choose to demonize successful people who don’t carry ideal personality traits–perhaps traits they as the media have successfully tainted the character of one of the most effective policy presidents in our country’s history. Their ready-to-pounce information consumers cling to spewing hateful remarks based on the media sensationalist trash that sells ads and becomes clickbait.
Several books have been written about the media and their manipulation of audience perspective, and the damage they have been doing for centuries. Jefferson despised the journalists who depicted our newly formed independent country as chaotic and a recipe for failure. While chaos might have ensued during Shay’s rebellion at a time when European writers were giving America scathing reviews, it didn’t obviate the successes our nascent country had achieved in such a short time. All those successes though, they didn’t sell papers in England, and they certainly didn’t please the royalty, nobility, or aristocracy.
The sad truth about our current zeitgeist is that it isn’t even our own: rather, it’s one that has been shaped and molded by corporate media oligarchs who are laughing all the way to the bank, while the bulk of Americans pontificate about what is “appropriate” and blindly engineer their own demise by consuming, without question, the fodder they are being fed daily.
For all the never-Trump cult members, though, we’ve attached a list of links to lead them to the policies that were good for Americans, and that garnered him 75 million votes, a number that most will always believe, based upon plenty of evidence, beat Biden’s turnout by the millions.
